YEAR-END REPORT IN ENGLISH SY 2011-2012 I. Introduction With the 2010 Secondary Education Curriculum using the UBD Approach, teachers are confronted with a string of dilemma on how to teach the language to students. The insufficiency of the curriculum guide posted a great predicament both to the teacher and the students. That is why one way of resolving it is to rely on the curriculum guide sold by a group of individuals from unfamiliar publishing companies. Despite all these problems, the school has achieved the highest rank in the division for NAT 2010-2011. A. Comparative Result of the NAT Y2 for SY 2009-2010 and SY 2010-2011 SY 2009-2010 SY 2010-2011 GAIN/GAPS

The following are the reasons why the NAT Result in English of San Sebastian National High School increased: The school has committed itself in increasing the NAT Result due to its fluctuating results in the previous years. The administrator has tapped the support of the internal and external stakeholders to realize the target result. The students were informed that an incentive shall be awarded if the target result is met. The teachers performed an excessive RRE every Friday to sustain the learning competencies tested in the NAT. The teacher has undergone series of trainings and enrolled in further studies for professional growth that contributes to the performance of students in standardized tests.

D. Awards Received (if any) The school has not received any awards in the division/region/national this school year because of its nonappearance in the division contests due to the lack of fund. E. Participation in Press Conference The SSNHS Campus Journalists did not join this years press conference because of the lack of training especially now that the contests involved online writing. The students have not undergone any training of that sort that made them hesitant in joining, aside from the fact that the school publication fund cannot suffice the expenses for the journalists in the said conference. To resolve this problem, division training on online writing must be conducted for new journalists and advisers so that they will not be hesitant anymore on joining the PressCon.
