What role will academic technologists play in accountability efforts? To meet these new demands for accountability and usability, the role and skills of academic technologists must evolve. And this role would mean that academic technologists are expected to act as an expert resource on best practices in educational technology. 2. How well do academic technologists understand the scholarship of teaching and learning? How do they maintain current knowledge in the field? Academic technologists aims the following: to advance teaching, learning and communicating through innovation and the strategic use of academic technology hence; they are expected to have a thorough understanding of the institutions vision and how various educational initiatives impact university practices. Also, they must have a grasp of existing research, serve on university-wide committees, and demonstrate the creativity needed to address novel educational situations. Therefore knowing the aims and musts of these academic technologists, I think that academic technologists clearly and completely understand the scholarship or methods and designs of teaching and learning. The traditional role of providing knowledge and leadership in instructional development and delivery will persist- academic technologists must maintain current knowledge in the field of online methodologies, instructional design, Web and multimedia design, accessibility and adaptive learning technologies, and learning styles-- by still applying that current knowledge in the field and better acquire new ideas and knowledge of emerging technologies for improvement. 3. Can academic technologists communicate technical and non-technical content to all levels of the organization? Yes as long as academic technologists will work within a triumvirate with classroom teachers and librarians. The idea for this construct being that the subject-matter expert (teacher), the guide for knowledge seeking (librarian), and the guide through technology (academic technologists) could team up to create new and exciting ways for teachers to deliver content to their students. Also Each semester, Academic Technologies develops a curriculum of
faculty-development opportunities, including workshops in Blackboard and other software; seminars and panel discussions on teaching with technology; live, interactive telecasts and satellite broadcasts, in addition to offering the eLearning Quality Instruction Program, featuring an 8-week seminar in online course design, again, they are able to communicate both technical and non-technical content.

4. How will academic technologists be mentored to understand the institutional culture? Collaboration, stewardship and change are becoming part of everyday life for academic technologists and since institutional culture is defined as the customs, rituals, and values
