About this ebook

Serenity In End Times written by Brenda Mohammed is a book based on the book of Psalms.

This book contains Psalms 1 - 41 with the author's commentary for each one.

The book of Psalms in the Bible is poetically and beautifully written by each psalmist.

King David of Israel wrote many of the Psalms in the Bible.

Some psalms are prophetic and foretell of the coming of Jesus Christ.

The Psalms help us to praise and pray to God.

The Commentaries by the author help us us to understand the psalmist' verses.

When we read God's Word, speak it, be obedient towards God, treat the earth and others with dignity, and keep on praising the Creator, who bequeathed the earth to us, we will be blessed with Eternal Life.

Serenity in End Times - Brenda Mohammed

    INTRODUCTION

MANY HAVE ASKED THEMSELVES, why am I depressed? Why do I experience so much suffering in my life? Why am I always unhappy? Why am I lonely? Why are my children disobedient? Why is the world plagued with diseases and pestilences? Why is there so much crime and violence in the world? Why has my marriage failed?

The answer to all these questions can be found in the Word of God.

God made us in his own image. He gave us dominion over the earth, the sea, and the sky [Genesis 1: 26- 27]. He loves us and wants to have a relationship with each of us.

Humankind cannot yet decipher the depth of God’s love for us, and continuously fall prey to the Author of Confusion [Satan], who plays with our minds instilling fear and distrust in the Living God. Satan is also known as the separator, the tempter, and the accuser.

Eph. 6. [12]" For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

God wants us to prosper and be successful in all we do. We live in a cursed world, but God is our steel umbrella who keeps us from the hell storm.

We need God in our lives. The key to his presence is obedience. The key to obedience is faith. The key to faith is hearing the word of God. When we read the Word of God daily, and put Him first, we will no longer live with fear and dis-ease that bring about diseases. Read God’s Word, memorize it, study it, act on it, and speak it.

Throughout the Bible we read about God’s infinite love. He has never given up on us and never will. He sent his only Son, Jesus Christ to earth to pay the penalty for our sins.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [John 3: 16]

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace" [1 Corinthians 14: 33].

When the disciples received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Day, Peter proclaimed that the Holy Spirit is the promised gift from Jesus (Acts 2:33), and in his response to the people's request for what to do at the end of the sermon, he described what the disciples received and what the subsequent believers would receive also.

All believers have the Holy Spirit within them. The Holy Spirit guides us in our decisions and protects us from physical and spiritual danger. He is known as the Comforter, and He can calm our fears and fill us with hope. Through His power, we are sanctified as we repent, receive saving ordinances, and keep His covenants.

All roads do not lead to Heaven. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. [John14: 6]

I have written three books for these crucial times.

He is the One: A Book for End Times

Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories

True Power of Love: Miracles of Jesus

This book, Serenity In End Times, is a  book based on the book of Psalms, which is an intricately designed collection of poetry that recounts the Bible’s history and God's covenant promises.

Similar to Poetry, the Psalms contain examples of two literary conventions, as in Psalm 18: 42:

    Hyperbole – useful exaggeration.

"Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind."

Metaphor – one thing is used to represent another.

"I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets."

This first book covers Psalms 1 to 41 which were taken from the King James Version of the Bible. It is believed that many of these Psalms were written by King David. At the end of each Psalm I have written a commentary about it.

The Book of Psalms poetically retells the entire biblical story and accomplishes the following:

    1. The Psalms teach about our attitudes in approaching the Lord and the reasons why we sometimes choose not to.

    2. The Psalms solidify the contrast between righteousness and wickedness, sealing the certainty that God will sort out the two in the end.

    3. The Psalms are a limitless source of comfort and hope.

    4. Some Psalms are prophetic.

"The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to all humanity." [–Psalms 115:16]

God loves us and wants to dwell amongst us. God is Spirit, "And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father "[Galatians 4:6].

God wants to be the centre of our lives, because He created us.

When we read our Bible, speak the Word, obey God’s Ten Commandments, treat the earth with dignity, and keep on praising the Creator who bequeathed the earth to us, we will be blessed with Eternal Life.

Furthermore, God will reward us on Judgement Day for the good deeds we have done.

    PSALM I

The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly

    Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

    Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

    The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

    COMMENTARY:

This first Psalm is an apt introduction to the beautiful and inspirational ones that follow.
