Question: Aboriginal societies are at best simplis tic and primitive. How far do you agree with this?

1. Opening Paragraph (DPA)

Definition: simplistic and primitive Simplistic: modest; only looking for basic needs of life Primitive: having basic knowledge and technology Parameter: Early 21stCentury Australian Aborigines society Assumption: The Australian Aborigines have been keeping basic motives and basic skills in theirlives. Stand: I agree to a larger extent.

2. Arguments for
Culture After existing for many centuries, Australian Aborigines have not been affected by andrelying to many new technologies that have been invented. Conflict: Conflicts hardly exist as Australian Aborigines have little to fight over.

3. Counter Arguments
Culture: The Australian Aborigines have their own specialised forms of art which no other societypossesses. Community: With their multi-purpose tools, the Australian Aborigines are very efficient as they onlyh ave to bring a single tool for many purposes. This facilitates their nomadic nature int hat they are not hindered by a large amount of equipment.

4. Counter Counter Arguments

Culture: Despite having their own forms of art, they are unable to develop them further due totheir nature of being nomadic and limitations to bring specialised tools. Community: Because their tools are multi-purpose, they are not as good at carrying out a single task, such as digging, as compared to a specialised tool such as a shovel. Thus, their tools are inefficient in the sense that they have minimum specialisation and specialadapta

tions.

5. Conclusion
In conclusion, I agree to the statement to a larger extend as they are still very natural and theirs ociety is not so developed. In terms of culture, they are not applying any new technologies in their dailyli fe. In addition, in terms of conflict, because of their being simplistic and primitive, intra-society warhardl y exists. However, to a smaller extent, Australian Aborigines forms of art are distinct and notspecialised. They also, as hunters, have multi-purpose tools which are very efficient. Nevertheless, thereare limitatio ns to the counter arguments. It is true that their culture is unique but they do not havespecialised tools t o develop it as they are nomadic. It is also true that their multi-purpose tools are veryefficient, still they are not good at carrying out a single task. Thus in my opinion they are at bestsimplistic and primitive.
