I begin with Allah's name and with Allah's assistance.

All verbal forms of worship, all bodily worship and all monetary devotions are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and the righteous bondsmen of Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His bondsman and His messenger. I ask Allah for Paradise and I seek His refuge from the Hellfire. The month of Shaban is on.and along with it, the scent of Ramadan is also sensed. As far as worship is concerned, Shaban is a very important month. I was giving status in my Facebook regarding lailatul barat,There i had a chat with a friend(dont want to disclose his name,may Allah guide him.) who argued with me that its bida'h to celebrate "Shab-e- Barat/Lailatun Nisf Min Sha'Ban"!I was shocked and asked him why he thinks so and who told him such stupid thing?!But he gave me no answer.He was keep asking me ref of ahdith and quranic verses.Then i collected as many hadith i can to make this a very useful article.I was shocked that while researching to make tis doc,i found that many websites are also misleading people by saying its unlawful innovation/bida'h!!So then i merged into ocean of nur of holy prophets holy sayings/ahdiths and collected as many as i can.May Allah and Rasulullah( ) accept this humble servants service by the means of this writing. For the proof of the merit of Laylatun Nisf min Shaban, Shab-e-Barat, the following verses of the Holy Quran are cited: Surely, We have sent it (the Holy Quran) down in a blessed night(lailatun mubarak). Surely, We are the Warner. In this (night) judgment is given on all matters of wisdom (separately) by Our Command. (Sura ad-Dukhan, 44:3-5)

Imam Qurtubi(ra) and Imam Jalal-ud-Din Suyuti(ra) in kitab ad durul mansur with 25 ahdith sahih and Saikh Abdur Qadir jilani(ra) in ghuniya tutalibiin hold that the

verses refer( lailatum mubarak) to Laylatun Nisf min Shaban or Shab-e-Barat in farsi. To be noted The fact of lailatul Qadar being the night and month of ramadan time of sending quran is also right.Here i want to remove the confution that it was stored in law mahfuz in the night of shaban and bought to us in the night of lailatul qadar.

The whole of the month of Shaban is meritorious. Its excellent merit is evident from a tradition narrated by Aisha, the mother of the faithful: The Prophet did not fast in any month more than Shaban. ----(Sahih Bukhari,bab-52 kitabus sawm sha'ban,safah-345,hadith no 197.)

Imran bin Husayn (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allahs Messenger ( ) having said to him or to someone else: Did you fast in the Middle of Shaban? He said: No. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: If you did not observe fast, then you should observe fast for two days. ---- (Sahih al-Muslim, 6:2607)

Why did Rasulullah( ) fast so much?Surely there is a hikmat and fazilat on the month of Shaban. lets see the reason. Narrated by Aishah (Allah be pleased with her),Usama ibne zaid(Allah be pleased with her)asked holy prophet that Ya Rasulullah( ) I never saw you fast so much in the month of shaban after the month of ramadan.why? then Rasulullah( ) said,'This is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadan, and it is a month in which deeds are lifted up to the Lord of the Worlds. I like for my deeds to be lifted up when I am fasting.' ----(Sunan nasai,jild-2,hadith-2361) lets see what day the deeds are lifted in the month of sha'ban. Among the hadiths stressing the status of 15th Sha`ban (laylat al-baraa) are the following: Narrated by Aishah (Allah be pleased with her) I missed Allahs Messenger (

 ) during the night and found him in jannat al-Baqi looking to the sky.when Rasulullah( ) saw her He said: Were you afraid that Allah and His Messenger would deal unjustly with you? I said: Allahs Messenger, I thought that you had gone to some of your other wives. He (the Prophet ) said: Verily Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, comes down to the heaven of the world in the middle night of Shaban and forgives sins even more abundant than the hair of the goats of Kalb. ---- (Sunan al-Tirmidhi,bab 39- lailatun nisf min sha'ban,hadith-739 jild-2.) ----(Sunan Ibn Maja,Bab-lailatun nisf min sha'ban,swafa-108,hadith no-1389) Narrated by Ali(Allah be pleased with him)Rasulullah( ) said,Oh believers during the middle night 15th of Shaban do qiam(salat) and fast next day. ----(Sunan Ibn Maja,Bab-lailatun nisf min sha'ban,swafa-108,hadith no-1388)

Abu Musa Al-Asharee/Aisha/muaz bin jabal/Abu bakar/Ali ibne abu talib/Abu salaba/Abu huraira/ (total 8 rabi in 50 kutub hadith with same words)(may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allahs messenger ( ) said, Verily Allah looks at His creation on the 15th of Shaban and forgives everyone except a person who commits shirk and a person feels rancor towards his parents, brother and Alcoholic." 1-----(Ibn Majah,jild-2,bab-lailatun nisf min sha'ban-hadith,1390); 2-----(Ibn Abee Asim (510) 3-----(Sahih Ibn Hibban, ed. total 50 hadith kitab sanad and rijal is total 8 sahaba grade 1 rijal, also every muhaddis made saparate bab/chapter to this topic.Thats why Graded as being Saheeh by Shaykh Al-Albani and also by Salfi/Wahabi scholer Ibne Taimiyah said its sunnah!

Allah swt in His Infinite Mercy has provided us with such an auspicious night so that we may take advantage of it and repent for our sins, and obtain His Grace and Favor. Those who are rejecting this night -- keep in mind are going against the hadiths. & Allah knows best.
