Pastors Letter...
All things should be done decently and in order. (I Cor. 14:40)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ! Greetings in the name of our crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ! The Apostle Paul was very concerned that the Church be a witness to the non-believing community. He admonished the Corinthians to do things decently and in order. Do not forget to attend our Annual Business Meeting on Sunday, June 3rd, following the morning worship. Following Scripture, we must all aim to hold such meeting decently and in order. The God we worship is a God of order. Disorder detracts from life and causes turmoil and disunity. Order contributes to harmony and unity. How would an orchestra sound if everyone started playing their instruments when they wanted to and not when the conductor led them? The word symphony means to sound together. Thats what happens when an orchestra plays together. There is another word called cacophony which means bad sound. Thats what happens when musicians do not follow the conductor, but play whenever they want to. We want all that we do at Tremont Temple to be an expression of our love for the God who created the world and brought order out of chaos. We thank God for the order that has come to this church from chaos. Let us pray and continue to work for Christ and His Kingdom so that the world might believe! When Jesus prayed for the unity of the Church in John 17, He was praying also that we learn to do things decently and in order. It is for the good of the Church and its mission of reconciliation. This June issue of Temple Tidings will be an abbreviated one due to the Business Meeting on June 3rd. I want to conclude this letter with thanks to our leadership for their sacrifice and work for the Kingdom. We are grateful to Dick Lynch for having served as Moderator. Many of our Deacons and leaders have moved. We are grateful to all our Ministry Chairs. Their dedication to completing the work of this Church is indeed a sign of Gods grace to all of us. Thank you ministry leaders! Thank you Deacons! Thank you Trustees! Thank you Staff! Thank all of Gods people for their faithfulness and dedication to making Christ known to our neighbors! Please make sure to come to our Annual Business Meeting, on June 3rd ! God Bless you!
