Countrys largest producer of tinplate, established in 1922, the company pioneered the manufacture of tinplate in India. TCIL is in the business of providing metal packaging solutions and it accounts for over a third of the market. The company's products are used for canning and packaging of goods in the processed foods, paints, beverages, dairy products and other industries. It manufactures electrolytic tinplates or tinfree steel, from hot-rolled coils supplied by Tata Steel, for can fabrication to pack edible oils, processed foods, dairy products, beverages, pesticides, and paints, and for manufacturing battery components having a technical agreement with Nippon Steel of Japan. Headquartered in Kolkata, TCILs plants are located at Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand.

Key Responsibilities: Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment; Procurement of products involving commercial transactions like raising enquiries to approved vendors and getting the respective offers. Preparing techno-commercial comparison and getting their approval by respective department (Indenter). Co-ordination with the members of supply chain like vendors, transporters to achieve the prescribed service level targets; Interfacing with vendors to obtain required purchase order information and regular interfacing with company internal organizations to provide purchase order details, tracking, and follow up to ensure the order process is completed; Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability; Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures; To ensure that the correct information for distribution of materials to the appropriate receiving organization; Freight cost reduction, courier and octroi payments and taking care of statutory and legal compliance related to transportation; Performing reviews and clearing of blocked invoices; maintaining reports and data accuracy within database;

Clear the doubts and resolve issues for the employees, if any; Predict the consequences of implementing the changes and prepare remedial plans, in advance, to meet the challenges and shortcomings successfully . This application helps the Purchase department to raise Quotation against a request, receive quotation, generate Purchase Order to best suitable supplier and finally receive the goods.
