Clan Castle League

What is Clan Castle League?

Clans in MLCW Clan Castle League are automatically included on the Season 6 backup list
and will be considered as potential season 7 participants.
Each clan will participate in weekly wars, just as the regular members of MLCW do. A
schedule will be put out every week, as the clans in here will be ever changing. Every clan is
expected to follow the exact rules of MLCW, just as if you were in the main league.
Standings in this league will not get carried over and will not take part in consideration for
MLCW participation. Admins will rather look into your interactions with other clans and your
behavior inside the MLCW community.

Why should you join the Clan Castle League?

1 - It allows clans who are on the waiting list, and who wish to join during season 7, a chance
to get first hand experience of how MLCW works.
2 - It allows the admins an opportunity to see which clans actually have what it takes to be in
MLCW. This, we hope, will help prevent clans from having to drop out mid-season during the
MLCW.
3 - Even if you don't make it into the next season, Clan Castle League will grant you the
opportunity to match fair and evenly outside of random matchmaking.
4 - Clans that participate in Clan Castle League will have preference when it comes to
choosing clans for Season 6 of MLCW. Therefore, you will increase your chances for
acceptance into the main leagues.
5 - As a little bonus, Clan Castle League clans will get a “not yet specified” number of spots
in the Post-Season All Star Match.

Where and how can you apply?

The application process is simple. Just fill out the application form at
https://goo.gl/forms/5Nn8kirStf8kGvy62

What breakdowns are available?

The following breakdowns are possible:
- Grand Warden - 4/10/16
- Archer Queen - 3/8/14
- Barbarian King - 2/6/12
- Battle Machine - 0/4/11

What are the responsibilities of a clan rep?

As a clan rep, you are the single point of contact between your clan and the admins of
MLCW. You are also tasked with arranging the matchups with other clans, communicating
the results, and making sure that your clan follows the rules.
Roster
The most important part of your application is your roster which must be submitted on the
Master Roster Submission form found here.
This link leads you to a read-only template. In order to use this for yourself you need to clone
this document. In order to do this click on “File” and then on “make a copy…”
You will be asked to name the document, so name it after your clan. For example,
“GardenTemplars S5 roster”
The file should look like this:

You are allowed to use up to 50 players. If you do not know how to calculate war weights
you can look it up in the section “How to calculate War Weight“.
I have been accepted – what now?

New Discord channels

# clan-castle-league-reps – main touchpoint for Clan Castle League clans and Clan Castle
League admins. Admins will regularly post schedule updates in here and tag all Clan Castle
league reps in these posts
# ccl_chat_war_updates – post results from your Clan Castle League wars

Where do I find information regarding my first match?

Schedule is released weekly, for example on Tuesday and a time frame is allocated and
marked on the schedule for clans to arrange and complete wars in, this time frame is large
and gives plenty of time to clans to complete their wars
As soon as updates to the schedule occur they are posted in the #clan-castle-league-reps
channel on the Discord server.

Matching process
After you know who you are facing, it's now a matter of discussing the details with your
opponent. You will need a precise date and time and an agreed upon breakdown.

Contacting opponent
Reps can be found on Discord. Contact them via dm to discuss your war. Remember to be
kind and friendly. We all play in the same league, and we are all here for the same reason.
Let's be supportive of the other clans that play in the same league as us by conducting
ourselves with integrity and treating each other respectfully

Agreeing on date and time

Time and date should be an easy enough topic – unfortunately a lot of things can go wrong
trying to find a working date.
First, be aware of time differences between you and your opponent. Communicate times
using a time zone attached. We suggest EST since it's the officially used timezone by
MLCW.
All wars have to take place between Wednesday and Tuesday of each week of play, with a
hard deadline of Tuesday at 0700 hours (EST). If it becomes clear during the matching
process that this deadline cannot be held, an admin/mod must be informed and has to
approve the alternative deadline.
The result of these talks should be something like this:
Prep day starts at 8:00 pm EST, 24 hours prep, 24h war.

Exchanging rosters using “redcloud”

After you agreed on a time and date – the next step is to set up a redcloud sheet for your
specific matchup.
Initial Setup
You or your opponent will create the initial redcloud sheet in order to start this step. If you
are not sure on how to do this follow the instructions in the Section “Roster”. Also, you can
pre fill one of the sides of the redcloud sheet already with your clan information. Use the
“comment” column to your advantage – if a player is not available for the war you can mark it
there. How you find out if a player is unavailable is up to you and your clan.
It is important that you and your opponent work on the same redcloud sheet. You will need
to allow them access to edit the sheet you created. To share the redcloud you need to click
on the blue “share” button at the top right corner of the screen.

As soon as you have done this a window will pop up looking like that:

Click on “Get shareable link” (marked in red on the screenshot above

The drop down menu that just appears needs to be changed from “Anyone with the link can
view” to “Anyone with the link can edit”. Right below that you can find a link (marked in red).
Copy that link and send it to your opponent. They can then add their roster and you can work
on it simultaneously.

After your opponent has added their roster on the other side of the redcloud sheet, the initial
Setup is done. The redcloud sheet should look a little like this after both clans are added.

What BDs am I allowed to use?

The breakdowns are:
- Grand Warden - 4/10/16
- Archer Queen - 3/7/15
- Barbarian King - 2/6/12
- Battle Machine League - 0/4/11

These breakdowns can be adjusted IF your opponent agrees to it. However, we highly
recommend that you deviate from going under the minimum.
How to calculate War Weight

You need to calculate individual player's war weights, so that you can match your players
weights to your opponents’. Weight and hero levels need to be up to date at all times.
Misrepresentation of weight is a violation of our rules .Deviations from the actual war weight
can have drastic consequences.
TH11: Uses Supercell’s weight system. To find your own war weight at , post a friendly
challenge and ask a clan mate to scout your base and to look in your town hall. Take the
amount of gold available and multiply it by 1 plus the number of gold storages you have.
Then, divide by 1000. Maximum possible weight is 110.

TH10: Use Tier level for TH10 weight calculation. These levels are calculated in the same
way as is done in other leagues (NDL, CWL, etc) to ensure conformity between leagues.
The values used are trimmed towards competitive war clans to ensure fair comparison
between different TH10s. Usage of values with kind permission by CWL. You can find the
MLCW TH10 Tier calculator here with more explanation: https://goo.gl/bhGE7j (you will need
to create a copy).

TH9: No matching weight restrictions.

Which players can be put on a roster?

You can put all players from your master roster on the war roster as long as they have spent
60% of their active time in your clan. This value is counted from the moment you got
accepted into the League until war day.
If the player is not fulfilling this threshold he will be counted as a sub (substitute). Each clan
is allowed to use a specific amount of subs. These should only be used to equal war weight
– not to get to the BD required. The amount of allowed subs are as follows:
● Grand Warden League - 1/2/3
● Archer Queen League - 1/1/3 or 0/2/3
● Barbarian King League - 0/1/3
● Battle Machine League - 0/1/2
Subs need to be very clearly marked and communicated to your opponent! If for some
reasons these subs are not enough or if other questions regarding rosters arise please
contact an admin / mod.
GWL only: For the purpose of higher breakdowns GWL clans are allowed an additional 10
members stemming from one single named “partner-clan”. This Clan needs to be named
during roster submission and cannot change during the season. Said members are also
seen as regular members.

Matching weights and hero levels - Matching priorities

You and your opponent will need to tweak the roster so that there is as little War weight and
hero difference between you and your opponent as possible. Communicate frequently with
your opponent and try to find a solution together. When it comes to matching, it is important
to match the War weights first. Hero levels have the second priority here only. If you have
done this the rosters might look like this using our example from before:
Please note this is nearly even match. You may not always come this close to an exact
match but you need to do your best.
If both sides are happy with the roster, you can agree to lock it. It is automatically
considered locked 24 hours before the war starts. After this point changes can only happen if
the following parameters are met:
● Opponent needs to be immediately informed
● Change needs to be to the disadvantage for the changing clan or needs to be an
exactly even trade.

Challenging & Accepting

When the time for war is near l, one of the clans needs to challenge the other one. Take
care that Friendly wars are enabled in game! The simplest way is to agree who is sending
the challenge beforehand.
Set up your side of the roster as agreed on the redcloud sheet, set war and prep time
according to your agreement and send it. The accepting clan does the same and double
checks prep and wartime!
From that point on all discussions and negotiations are over. Time to Battle! Unless…
If one of the clans accepted the war with a wrong player in the line-up and it was an honest
mistake immediately contact the opponent and an admin! If the switch was a disadvantage
for the clan that committed the error war will most likely commence without any
consequences. Final call about this is made by the admin.
If the switch was advantageous for the clan that committed it an admin can decide to hold
one or both attacks of the wrongly added player or decide other means of compensation.
The War

Rules
You can access the rules doc in full on our website mlcw.org
You must have read and understand the entire document before negotiating, so please give
it a thorough read through.

War result posting

The results of a war need to be posted in the channel #results, This can be done only by the
clan rep. The winner of the match is the one who posts the result.
For Clan Castle League, the result is posted in #ccl_chat_war_updates.
The result has to have destruction percentage, so post a screenshot of the screen below, to
ensure we have all pertinent data.
