1.1.2 Walking
Some of these articles also are relevant to running. Articles that are most explicitly relevant to both walking and running are in the super-ordinate collection entitled "1.1 Locomotion." The focus is on the peculiarities of natural environments (e.g., mud, ice, snow, vegetation, mountainous terrain, bodies of water) and man-made environments that are challenging for locomotion (e.g, buildings, passageways, barriers) as opposed to man-made environments specifically designed to facilitate locomotion (e.g., roads).
