Fully electric cars (BEVs) jumped up (+68% year over year), while plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) continued sinking (-26%)." reports CleanTechnica: "Looking January’s best sellers, you can see the good moment of all-electric models, with 8 BEVs in the top 10. The fully electric Renault Zoe led the way, with 799 registrations, closely followed by the fully electric VW e-Golf (746) and the fully electric BMW i3 (703). It employs more than 750 people at development centers in Plymouth, Michigan; San Jose, California; Irvine, California; and Surrey, England. It will build its vehicles at the former Mitsubishi factory in Normal, Illinois. Mitsubishi ceased producing vehicles at the 2.6 million square foot factory in 2015. Rivian says it will launch the R1T and R1S in the US in late 2020, with sales in other countries slated to begin in 2021."
