Introduction
HUL was formed in India in as Liver Brothers India Ltd in 1933. It entered in to the market with Sunlight Soap followed by Lifebuoy, Pears, Lux and Vim. HUL is currently the largest FMCG in India with the Revenue of US$4.46 bn (19987.64 Crores). HUL has its headquarters in Mumbai. The company has 15000 direct employees and 50000 indirect employees. More than 80 Manufacturing facilities located all over the India in order to optimize the distribution and transport costs.

Milestones
In 1956 three companies namely Hindustan Vansapathi Manufacturing Company , Lever Brothers India Limited and United Traders Limited formed the Hindustan Unilever. The brands that joined this groups are: 1) Lipton India 1977 2) Brooke Bond 1984 3) Ponds India 1986 4) Kissan Business 1993 5) Kwallity Walls - 1996 6) Lakme 1998

7) Modern bread 2002


Finally in 2007, at 74th AGM, HUL was renamed as Hindustan Unilever Limited.
