Classroom Expectations:

2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Respect the people, equipment and furnishings of Compton Drew ILC. Show and display the CORE VALUES in your actions. Follow directions the first time they are given. Report to class on time daily with homework completed. Have all appropriate materials and supplies at your desk and be seated when class begins. Students must remain in assigned seat at all times during class.
Students begin the class period with 5 conduct points. Students will lose points for not coming to class prepared and for any classroom consequences. Points accumulated by the end of class period will be calculated into conduct/participation category of students grade. Students lose points based on their class conduct. Class infractions can be reversed each day. General Course Objectives Students will develop skills in the 8 strands set forth in the Missouri State Standards and Grade Level Expectations Students will use the above skills to solve real life application problems. Students will further develop their analytical thinking (reasoning). Grading Policy: Students grades are based on points earned for tasks completed in and out of class. The points are all added together for the final quarter grade. Points are earned for assessments, i.e. unit exams, quizzes, exit slips, etc. (40%), homework (10%), lab reports (20%), classwork (15%), and special projects (15%) The standard grading scale is used. 100 90 % A 89 80% B 79 70% C 69 60% D 0 59% F
Interactive Notebook (2- 1 subject notebooks) All students are required to keep an Interactive Student Notebook. The purpose of the interactive student notebook is to enable you to be a creative, independent thinker and writer. Interactive notebooks will be used for class notes as well as for other activities in which you will be asked to express your own ideas and process the information presented in class. Additional information will be distributed and discussed during the first week of classes. I will provide each student with a notebook.

Tests, Quizzes, and Projects Content quizzes will be given weekly. Tests will be announced per the class calender.
Homework Policy The purpose of homework is to prepare for, build on, and reinforce classroom learning. Homework not only encourages responsibility and accountability; it also strengthens homeschool communication about student learning and enhances study habits. Homework will be assigned in packets on Monday and will be due the following Monday per the class calender. Homework may include, but is not limited to, book work, worksheet, projects, and home projects. Homework will be checked for completion. Classwork assignment that will earn full credit: is completed in binder using pencil. has a proper 7th grade Compton Drew heading (date & page # on the top line of the page) has the original problems & work shown
