WHAT ARE THE STEPS TAKEN BY THE AUTHORITY???

Due to immense pressure from public Kadalundi area was declared as a masked land in 2005.

It was declared as a community reserve in 2007.

Active discussions are going on between the concerned authorities and public in gramasabhas held by the Panchayat authorities. This ensures active participation from the local people in protecting the area.

 The community reserve has been put under the governance of the forest department, govt. of kerala. They in turn has appointed some bird watchers to monitor the area. Kadalundi community reserve management is operating hand in hand with the watchers for the efficient functioning of the reserve.

INITIATIVES FROM THE PUBLIC

As a part of the MAP programme, conducted in the schools, a group of students has visited the reserve and made the surroundings clean.

ARE THESE SUFFICIENT???

Its true that certain useful steps have been taken by authorities as well as public. But beyond a particular limit all these actions are in vain.
