ERROR ANALYSIS OF INTERNSHIP REPORT

ERRORS IN THE OF THE REPORT


Acknowledgement should follow the index and not the

other way round. Lots of spelling mistakes in the Table of Contents. Example: Product has been written as Prdct. List of Tables and Figures non-existent. No numbering of Tables and Graphs. No literature review in the literature survey. Recommendations absent in the executive summary. Objectives of the project is before the Literature survey but it should be the other way around.

No mention of objective of the report in the executive

summary. In sentences, structural errors are noticed. Lot of Grammatical and Punctuation Errors. Inconsistency of tenses in the report. Lack of proper referencing while quoting facts. Improper and vague referencing with relation to tables and charts. Absence of proper recommendations. No Results and Discussion in the end. References are improperly written.

GRAMMATICAL ERRORS
Improper use of singular and plural verbs. Example: This locations broadly covers X,Y and Z departments. Improper use/Missing Articles. Example: Only difference between X and Y is Z. The is missing. Pronoun-Antecedent agreement violation. Example: BlueStar is divided in 6 groups, with every group having four sub-divisions. Fragmented/Incomplete. Sentences. Example: Similar case with the two groups as previous groups.

Run-On Sentences : Sentences can be broken into two

sentences if they are extremely long. Improper sentence construction:


Example: After the meeting, draft job descriptions for

various positions in the given format.

Improper use and absence of conjunctions: Example 1: A lot of time was consumed for waiting for the officials. The appropriate conjunction will be while. Example 2: This division is same as that for R&D. Improper use of adverbs. Example: Most of the transactions in this group are internationally because of import of machines from other countries.

PUNCTUATION ERRORS
Absence of commas where pauses are required.

No use of during sentence interruption. Example: ACPD,PAD, RAD and Spare Parts Manufacturing -these are the four major sections in ACRSD. No semicolon used where multiple commas are there. Example: BSH Sakinaka, Sahas Dadar. It should be BHS,Sakinaka; Sahas,Dadar. Colons can be used to represent a series of elements. Example: There are three units : ACPD,PAD and RAD.
