Do it for big $$ Profit Driven Do or Die Business Model

These main names also produces other types of media under one umbrella for example Win host free to air tv, radio, sport and telecommunications or APN owning regional newspapers, digital TV and advertising to name just a few.

Commercial and Public


There are two types of forms of media Commercial and Public. Commercial is Profit Driven increasing ads for investors Public is funded by the state and relies on public trust and interest

Forms of Social Control

Since there are so many different mediums there has to be a separation and control between both the commercial and social. The both the public sphere and the statutory and voluntary overseers help deal with this.

More free movies/videos online and more independent companies getting their films on the web means loss of revenue, investment and quality. (which means more reality Tv shows and less quality like West Wing) if this happens I defiantly wont watch Tv anymore.

This will ultimately lead to

A dreary prospect for both the commercial media and the general public: Hyperlocalization and having to pleasing the employers rather then writing on a passionate relevant issue. This can lead further onto propaganda and even more censorship and lies.

Going back to the public sphere which could gauge
more revenue for the Commercial media

I hope this leads to better journalists and quality writers be it for Tv, Radio or Magazines.
