FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Equipment which controls the access of patrons

from free area to paid area & vice versa according to business rules. Made of a stainless steel housing.

Passenger comes in free area to purchase ticket for

desired station or uses CSC. Token issued with Zone, date,time, tom no. and station ID marked on it.

Shows his token or CSC at

Gate SMV on free area SMV reads the token and writes Entry date,time, equipment id and station id on token or CSC

Upon reaching destination

station passenger shows his token to Gate SMA on paid area. Token is read and if found valid I.e. for time and Zone allows exit by accepting the token and opening flap Otherwise display error message.

AFC GATE EXTERNAL VIEW

Gate aisle is formed be two gate cabinets placed next to

each other An aisle is the normal way to enter or exit to or from paid area of a station The two gate cabinets work together to provide the required functionality

ENTRY
EXIT BIDIRECTIONAL NORMAL HYBRID/WIDE

Presentation of media to SMA/SMV.


Reader reads it. PID informs passenger.

Validation or error tone from LS.


Flap opens and passenger passes through

sensors.Passenger detection. Gate records the transaction and upload it.

Performed through a set of 16 couples of optocells (emitter/receiver)


Passage is split into following four zones according to sensor placement

1. Detection zone
2. Surveillance zone 3. Safety zone 4. Exit zone

In-Service :

In this mode Gate can function as Entry/exit or

reversible gate Mode set by: SC, GRCU, Local command from maintenance menu of Gate PID, GED and CSC R/W work according to mode set

Out Of Service :

In this mode Gate remains blocked for Entry as well as

Exit. Media validating devices are off. Mode set by: SC, GRCU, Local command from maintenance menu of Gate. GED shows Red cross and PID displays Out of Service.

Out Of Order :

In this mode Gate remains blocked for Entry as well as

Exit. Media validating devices are off. Mode set by a fatal failure detected by the Gate itself

Maintenance:

In this mode Gate remains blocked for Entry as well as

Exit. Media validating devices are off. PID displays maintenance information to operator Set locally from Gate itself

Station Closed :

In this mode Gate remains blocked for Entry only.


Media validating devices from Exit side work. Mode set by: SC, GRCU, Gate locally from Maintenance

menu

Emergency Open :

Gate flaps open immediately


PID display Emergency exit message Passengers can walk freely through aisle without ticket

Mode set by: SC, GRCU


Has highest priority over all other 5 modes

Normal : Every entry is to be followed by an exit.

Cycle has to be completed.Exit without proper entry or entry without proper exit not given. Entry/Exit Override: Entry/exit check is disabled and multiple entry or exit provided on same ticket Time Mode Override: Time check is disabled Incident: Exit allowed with valid tickets but fare not detected from CSC and CST not accepted at SMA. Fare mode set by: SC, GRCU, Gate maintenance mode

To change or view any configuration on Gate, it is

necessary to enter maintenance mode Operator has to open gate door and access the keypad. Door opens and gate goes out of service Press 123 to go to maintenance Access Enter your PIN no. to access Maintenance Menu
