What is an Amendment ?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This amendment effects me because Im Christian and I go to church every Sunday so, it give me the freedom to live spiritually. It is necessary because people shouldnt hide their spiritual beliefs.

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor, in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. No soldier should be able to bust in our home and tell us they can stay there. Thats why I find this one necessary. It effects e because I wouldnt want anyone coming into my home without me allowing them.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in militia, when in actual service in time of War, or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compression. The 5th Amendment effects me because it allows us to plead the 5th and not to be tried for a serious crime unless weve been charged by a jury.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. This amendment effects me because it stops slavery for African Americans in the United States therefore me or any of my family are forced to be slaves.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. The 15th amendment effects me because it allows me to vote or do anything else without being discriminated because of my race or color.

Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. This effects me because it allows me as a female to vote no matter what sex I am. This is necessary because both sex are equal so both votes should count.

I think the 26th amendment should be removed because the age limit should be changed to at least 16 when your mature enough to know your beliefs and vote.

There shall be no age limit on which thee can drive. All persons must take and pass the drivers test and thou can drive. This is important because it allows any age to go to driving classes and get their license to drive.
