Features of Femtocell
Operates in the licensed spectrum Uses fixed broadband connection for backhaul It is managed by the NAP The backhaul service provider may be different from NAP/NSP Principally intended for home and SOHO Lower cost than PicoBS Smaller coverage (low power) than PicoBS Smaller number of subscriber (ten or less) than PicoBS Higher density

Interference Conditions
DL interference
MS is affected by Macro/Femto BSs if it locates in the area covered by Macro/Femto BSs

UL interference
Femtocell may be affected by the neighboring MS(s) which associates with different Macro/Femto BS(s)

In order to find out the DL interference situation, MS needs to report the scan result to which it is associated. In order to find out the UL interference situation, BSs should exchange the scan reports.

Interference Mitigation
As an MS locates in the coverage areas of two or more femtocells, the UL/DL interference will incurs. We propose some approaches to solve interferences occur on MS2 for the same channel
FDM approach, which allocates different frequency bands to FCa and FCb TDM approach, which coordinates the FCa and FCb to serve MS2 Control the DL power level of FCa or FCb to reduce the DL interference

Proposed Text
[Add the following section 15.x.y Interference Avoidance and Interference Mitigation]

15.x.y Interference Avoidance and Interference Mitigation Alternatively, the interference between Femtocells and/or macro cells can be mitigated by static or semi-static radio resource reservation and resource sharing using FDM and/or TDM and/or DL fractional channel power control of BSs manner.
