No clear vision. Why are we here? No boundaries. What can and cant we do? Failure to address process. Team behaviour is poor. Focus on personalities vs. behaviours. Focus on individuals vs. team success. Distractions. Where are we going as a team?

General guidelines for generating consensus: General appropriate information Seek different opinions from everybody Present your opinion logically and clearly Listen to reactions of others Do not argue from a fixed position

There are five purposes for team Meetings. Define the team Share information Generate ideas and make decisions Assign responsibility and manage implementation Review programmes

Guidelines for team meetings are: Hold enough meetings to keep members informed and committed. Have minutes which reflect accomplishments and agendas. Maintain good communications between meetings. Enforce attention to standards.

Prepare meeting agendas which specify objectives. Each meeting should have a leader, facilitator and recorder. The leader or facilitator should help the team gain consensus and commit to its decisions. The recorder should document key issues and decision and follow up action items.
