WHO and ILO Report April 2005 4% of all death around the world is labor-related 2,000,000 people die each year from work related accidents or disease 270,000,000 work place accidents happen each year

160,000,000 work-related sicknesses per year (cancers, muscle and bone diseases, lung diseases, hearing loss and blood flow diseases 400,000 death per year caused by dangerous substances (100,000 death due to asbestos)

Diseases cause most of the deaths among workers 17% of work place accidents happen at building industries 60,000 death happen in building industries Many workers come from poor areas having little experience with heavy machinery and little training in Safety.

50% of workers are in farming industry Pesticides is the main Risk in Agricultural work 70,000 poisoning deaths happen due to pesticides

7,000,000 people gets very sick but survived due to pesticides 4% of world production loss is due to job accidents Higher rates of job accidents among workers of age 15 to 24 and those of age 55 and older
