Latitude / Longitude Antennas (Type, Height and tilt) Orientation of the Antennas BCCH / TCH Frequencies(MAIO) to be allotted MA List BSIC Neighbor list

Creating a New Project


Open Atoll Click File\GSM GPRS EGPRS then OK Save the Project.

Defining Coordinate system


Click on Tools/ Options Select the Coordinate system in the Projections and Display

Propagation Model
Select the propagation Model in the Explorer window. In the Pop down menu select the type of propagation model to be used and double click it to get the property window. Change the values of K1, K2 etc and clutter losses to get the propagation model

Import the digital maps


File Import Browse the Map folder Select the Clutter and import clutter data Select the Heights and import Terrain data Select the Vectors and import Vector data

In Explorer window Select and Right click the Clutter classes and Select Centre in the Map to view the Map Double click the clutter classes and change the colors of different clutter classes for easy identification

Open POP Down menu in Vectors and Select each vector , Right click it and select the color and select the style for easy identification of each vector

Importing the Antennas


Import all the Antenna models used in the field by importing individually each Antenna file supplied by the Manufacturer

Creating a Site Template


In the Template POP Down menu select the required Template and select the Manage template then Station Template Properties window will appear. Select the properties then Properties window will appear. Change the properties in the window as per the model of the site. Click OK for creating Template. Select the number of templates as required.

Creating Sites and Cells (Transmitters)


Select the Site Icon and click it in the Map window for crating the site. Double click the site and enter the Latitude and Longitudes of the site. Enter the site name. The site will be moved to the required location.

Select the Transmitter/ Cell and double click it. Cell property dialog box will appear. Click the different tabs available in the box and changes may be made by changing the required values. For changing the height, azimuth, tilt, Power, Propagation model, calculation radius, BCCH, TCH Freq, BSIC and more of sector may be changed by modifying.

Double click on the sites in explorer window to get sites list. The content can be copied and pasted into EXCLE sheet. The sites can also be created by copying the site data in the same format from EXCEL sheet.

Similarly double click on the Transmitters in explorer window to get Transmitter list. The content can be copied and pasted into EXCLE sheet. The Transmitters can also be created by copying the Transmitters data in the same format from EXCEL sheet.

Coverage predictions
For creating the Coverage predictions, right click the predictions. Study type box will appear. Click on Coverage by signal level and change the intervals of the coverage levels. Change the colors for easy indications. Similarly Click on Coverage by Transmitter. Change the colors for easy indications. Click on Coverage by C/I level and change the intervals of the levels for Interference levels. Change the colors for easy indications.

Right click the Coverage by Signal level, Click on Calculate for getting the Coverage map of Signal Strength. Right click the Coverage by Transmitter level, Click on Calculate for getting the Coverage map by Transmitter. Right click the Coverage by C/I level, Click on Calculate for getting the Coverage map by C/I level.
