General names used for people, animals, plants and things are common nouns. E.g. man, frog, grass, hotel, etc.
Special names given to people animals, places or things are proper nouns. Proper nouns always begin with capital letters. E.g. Jim, Comel, Ipoh, Boeing, etc.
Abstract nouns refer to a quality or idea rather than a physical object. e.g. anger, joy, love, goodness, etc.

Plural nouns can be formed by: adding s e.g. aeroplanes, baskets, curtains adding es to nouns ending with s, ss, ch, sh, x, or o e.g. buses, classes, watches, bushes, boxes, potatoes changing the ending y to ies. BUT just add s if vowel comes before the y e.g. baby babies, day days changing the ending f or fe to ves e.g. loaf loaves, calf calves Exception: roofs, hoofs, dwarfs, chiefs
