What is application software?
 Program yang direkabentuk bagi membuatkan pengguna lebih
produktif dan membantu dalam tugas harian dan peribadi

How is software distributed?
Packaged software, Perisian yang dihasilkan secara besar­besaran, 
copyrighted retail yang memenuhi keperluan pelbagai pengguna, bukan 
sahaja untuk pengguna individu atau syarikat sahaja.
Contoh, WORD dan EXCEL.
Biasanya didapati di kedai­kedai dan internet

Custom software, Melaksanakan tugas spesifik kepada perniagaan dan 

industri. Apabila syarikat tidak menjumpai perisian yang memenuhi 
keperluan, syarikat akan menggunakan tenaga pengaturcara untuk 
membangunkn tailor­made custom software, yang biasanya berharga 
lebih mahal dari Packaged Software

 Open source software, Perisian yang dikeluarkan untuk digunapakai,

diubahsuai dan pengedaran semula.
Tiada halangan dari hakcipta untuk sebarang pengubahsuaian
Open Source Software ini biasanya dimuaturun dari Internet,
kdangkala terpaksa dibayar untuk muaturun

 Shareware, Perisian yang mempunyai hakcipta (copyrighted) yang

diedarkan secara percuma dalam tempoh masa percubaan (trial).
Untuk menggunakan Shareware setelah tamat masa percubaan, anda
perlu membuat pembayaran kepada pembangun (developer)
Freeware ialah Freeware adalah perisian (copyrighted) yang
diperolehi secara percuma di mana individu dan syarikat
mempunyai hak milik sepenuhnya pada perisian tersebut.
Maka, syarikat tidak boleh menjual perisian tersebut untuk
keuntungan mereka. Ini kerana Freeware adalah percuma

Public-domain software , Digunakan untuk kegunaan awam dan

tidak mempunyai halangan pada hak cipta
Sesiapa sahaja boleh menyalin (copy) atau edarkan perisian tanpa
sebarang kos.

Antara program yang dimuaturun ialah grafik, games, dan lain-

lain. Biasanya setelah anda muaturun, anda akan install program.
Sesetengah program mengkehendaki anda untuk activate/register
program.

Product Activation ialah teknik di mana sesetangah manufacturer

gunakan untuk memastikan perisian tidak di install lebih dari 1
komputer yang dibenarkan.

How do you start an application?
 From the desktop, click the Start button, point to All Programs, and
click the name of the application
 The program’s instructions load into memory, setelah OS di ‘loaded’,
OS akan mengkoordinasikan semua aktiviti di dalam komputer. Cth,
mulakan program, transfer data. OS kekal di dalam memori.

Working With Application
 Desktop - on-screen work area yang mempunyai GUI
 Icon - imej kecil yang dipaparkan di skrin yang mewakili
program, dokumen dan lain-lain.

 Button - elemen grafik yang anda aktifkan untuk

melakukan tugas seterusnya. Contohnya, Button.
 Pointer - simbol yang kecil dipaparkan di skrin untuk
memilih menu dengan menggerakkan tetikus.
 Menu - senarai arahan (command) di mana anda membuat
pilihan
✂ Command button pula adalah arahan yang menyebabkan
program melaksanakan tindakan seterusnya.
