ID and extended ID
ID and extended ID
ID is decided by physical switch in SCC board. ID is a unique identifier in a network, the data can find corresponding

user and General NE user, which are applicable to get access to NE by T2000-LCT, T2000, Navigator respectively.

password define the corresponding authority of operation and management of the NM.
User is usually added in a user group, and enjoys the operation

member of the administrator group, but enjoys more authorities, called additional authority, than the administrator group, so admin is also called super user. Super user admin can not be added in any other user groups and its authority can not be changed.
When using the NM for the first time, the system administrator logs
in as "admin" with the default password. For the sake of security, the administrator should change the password immediately and create a new user as required.

NE and gateway NE
Gateway NE refers to the NE that communicates with the NMS via
Page 10
Virtual NE
Virtual NE means the equipment can not be managed by T2000,
Page 11
Create NE
Pre-configuration
the configuration data is only stored at the NM, so it will return failure

Create NE
Subrack NE and Optical NE
Optical Network Element (ONE) is the transport entity that
implements the NE functions (terminal multiplexing, add/drop multiplexing, cross-connection and regeneration) in a DWDM layer network. The types of ONEs include OTM, OADM, OLA, REG and OXC.
ONE only exits in DWDM network, in SDH network, the basic entity

Create NE
The ways to create NE
Manual configuration
Configure data step by step, in this way the original data will be initialized and make new data by the operator to the NE.
Report all of the configuration data of the NE to the NM and overwrite the configuration data saved in the NE layer on the NM side. The process is from NE layer to NM layer.

Create NE
The ways to create NE
Copy NE data
You can use this way to create NE data quickly when the total net-work have many NE that have the same data. This configuration way will be faster than other two ways, but it is demanded that one NE had already configured, so that it can be as data source.
Notes usually we use upload in maintenance and use manual configuration in lab.

Create NE
Physical slot
physical slot means all the boards now in the slots of sub-rack in fact.
Logical slot
logical slot lie in the database in the SCC board. It is not the real boards in the sub-rack currently. Maybe the logical slot are consistency with the current boards in the subrack, may they are not consistency.

Create NE
Checkout
The step should be implemented when configuration is finished Checkout is just to check the foregoing configurations are good or
not.
If everything is ok, then configuration is success. the NE is going into
running state.
Page 17
Order Wire
Set the order wire before running the equipment, including the following items: call waiting time, dialing mode, conference call number, 1~3channel order wire phone number and order wire phone port
Call waiting time The maximum time that the network look for the
node after the user dial the order wire. Usually it is set to value 9 when the network is very large, and it is set to value 5 when the network is small.
Dialing mode Only have two modes: pulse and tone, and pulse is

Clock Configuration
Two ways
Configure clock no protection the steps
Configure the clock source priority Configure the clock source restoration parameter
Configure clock protection the steps
Configure the clock source priority Configure the clock source restoration parameter Configure clock protection subnet.
Page 19
Clock Configuration
Configure clock protection subnet
Set clock subnet ID Start SSM protocol Set clock ID to the relevant clock source.
Page 20
Clock Configuration
Some concepts
Clock ID
The lower 4 bits of S1 byte is set to quality of clock , the higher 4 bits of S1 byte are idle, so Huawei company define the 4 bits to means different clock ID, that can avoid the clock traced by itself.
SSM protocol
To start the SSM protocol means to perform clock switching according to the clock quality.
Page 21
Clock Configuration
Some concepts
Standard SSM protocol
Dont use clock ID to implement clock protection function, cant avoided clock traced by itself.
Extended SSM protocol
Use clock ID to implement clock protection function, can avoided clock traced by itself.
Page 22
Clock Configuration
Some concepts
SSM output control
You can decide whether to output SSM or not as required to avoid that equipments of different clock subnets affect one another at the boundary between clock networks.
Clock source switching condition
The clock source switching condition is for deciding whether to switch the clock source when the equipment fails. After setting a clock source switching condition, when the equipment detects any described condition, clock source switching occurs.

Questions
What is the difference between physical slot and logic slot? What can we do to pre-configuration NE? Tell the difference of manual configuration and upload. Describe the steps of clock subnet protection.
