EGR Controller Unit EGR Theory

Exhaust gases mixed with the intake air to reduce combustion temperature. The quantity of EGR must therefore be controlled to ensure that the

combustion chamber receives sufficient oxygen to support combustion.

EGR can be controlled in two ways. 1. ON / OFF Control: The EGR Valve is either switched ON or OFF by a micro-switch mounted on the throttle lever 2. Variable Control : The EGR Valve opening is dynamically varied based on current engine operating conditions ( through ECU & potentiometer )

1.Calibrate pump according to test specification sheet. 2. Rotate drive shaft to position key way between ( in line with ) DV Holders specified in the calibration chart and ensure that the plunger is in BDC. 3. Fit timing adapter on the screw plug. Fit a dial indicator (0-10 mm).
