NPE
Education in Malaysia is an on going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, in order to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically, balanced and harmoniously, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards and who are responsible and capable of achieving a high level of personal well being to contribute to the betterment of the nation, family and society.

THE ELEMENTS OF NPE


Education is an on-going effort Development of individual potentials in holistic and integrated manner Firm belief in and devotion to God Produce Malaysian citizen who are knowledgeable and competent Possess high moral standard and responsible Capable of achieving high level of personal well-being.

Produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically, balanced and harmoniously. Contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, society and the nation

EDUCATION IS AN ON-GOING EFFORT


Education is a process of acquiring and transferring of knowledge, skills & noble values. The acquisition and transfer processes are on-going starting from an early age till death. Early education is important in order to shape the personality of young children from the age of 1-6 years old. The personality this formed will go on developing throughout the schooling years. Upon completion of schooling, the individual continues to enhance his knowledge, skills and characters.

Continuous education will assist the individual to adapt to various types of changes.

DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL
POTENTIALS IN HOLISTIC AND INTEGRATED MANNER
Every individuals has been blessed by God with hidden talents, potentials & abilities. Talent, potentials & abilities should be tapped, nurture, developed and enhanced. Talent, potentials & abilities will surface through social interaction with others and the environment. Enhancement and development should preferably encompass four aspects namely intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical. Education should offer the individual opportunities to develop his talents, potentials & abilities.

FIRM BELIEF IN AND DEVOTION TO GOD


Admit the existence of God and accept Him as the Creator of mankind and the universe. Be aware that God determines natures laws and phenomena. Be aware that every individuals is fully responsible for his deeds and actions Practice all the teaching of the faith professed.

KNOWLEDGEABLE AND COMPETENT MALAYSIAN CITIZEN


Love for knowledge. Strive for foster knowledge and reading culture. Broad and open minded. Possess expertise & competencies. Able to execute task effectively and efficiently. Far-sighted & has initiative. Foster good disposition.

ACHIVE HIGH LEVEL OF PERSONAL WELL-BEING


Level-headed and calm. Possess strong resilience to face lifes challenges. Possess physical and mental resilience. Capable of undergoing lifes challenges.

CONTRIBUTION TOWARD THE HARMONY AND BETTERMENT OF FAMILY,SOCIETY & NATION


Foster family understanding. Conform to societal norms. Strive to foster national unity through tolerance, consideration, (espirit de corps), respect & so on. Strive for economic progress based on the countrys predetermined policies. Always maintain nations political stability and peace. Defend self-dignity, profession, religion, race and country. Make Rukun Negara a practice in daily living Love the country.

POSSESS HIGH MORAL STANDARD AND RESPONSIBILITY


Be a good character. Uphold good moral and noble values as principle in life. Aware that every task and responsibility is a trust that has to be well executed. Carry out assigned task trustingly, sincerely and efficiently. Adhere to country law. Strive toward development of self, family, society, race and country.

PRODUCE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE INTELLECTUALITY, SPIRITUALITY, EMOTIONALLY, & PHYSICALLY BALANCED AND HARMONIOUSLY

Be aware of the importance of good health. Mature and stable emotions. Be aware and of & believe in God. Possess the three basic skills (3R): Reading, Writing, & Arithmetic. THE OBJECTIVES OF NPE

MAJOR OBJECTIVES
Believe and devoted to God. Be responsible to self, society, religion and nation. knowledgeable. Possess balanced and firmed personality Practices tolerance so as to foster the unity among people of various races.

OTHER OBJECTIVES

Produce individual who will be responsible and able to fulfill their duty as good and useful citizen. Produce individual who will be progressive, skillful and competent in carrying out duty perfectly, with the aim to contribute toward the advancement and development of the nation Produce individual who will understand, accept and abide the democratic principles and laws of the Constitution. Produce individual who will be loyal to the King and love the nation Produce individual who understand and practices the Rukun Negara and possess tolerant attitude to foster unity among races. Reduce the gap in various field through provision of adequate education facilities to the less fortunate group

PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHER EDUCATION


The teacher, who is noble in character, progressive and scientific in outlook, committed to uphold the aspiration of the nation, and cherishes the national cultural heritage, ensures the development of the individual and the preservation of a united, democratic, progressive and disciplined society.

IMPLICATION OF PTE ON THE ROLE OF TEACHER


Teacher ought to equip themselves with general and specific knowledge in various subject taught in KBSR/KBSM plus the professional teacher training program Teacher ought to follow teaching-learning activities according to the aspiration of Philosophy of Teacher Education Teacher need to enhance and practice noble values and professional ethics Teacher need to carry out their responsibilities and accountability in order to become good and competent teachers, to acquire and practice what had been learned Teacher need to make use of the knowledge and skills acquired including professional skills.
