Workplace OHS policies


Workplace OHS policies are usually a statement about a safety issue in the workplace, and what the organisation intends to do about the issue. Examples of common OHS policies include: non-smoking policy policy on the use of drugs and alcohol health and safety policy. OHS policies should be available to everyone at a workplace. policies displayed on a noticeboard at the workplace or in a training manual

Workplace OHS procedures


Workplace OHS Procedures are stepby-step, or sets of instructions on how to deal with an activity in the workplace. Three common OHS procedures are: emergency procedures first aid procedures accident/near miss and hazard reporting procedures.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH POLICY


Specific to the organization and appropriate to its size and the nature of its activities Concise , clearly written , dated and made effective by the signature Or endorsement of the employer or the most senior accountable person in the organization Communicated and readily accessible to all person at their place work of Reviewed for continuing suitability and Made available to relevant external interest parties as appropriate

WHAT IS TRAINING?
Training

means helping people to learn how to do something , telling people what they should or should not to do , or simply giving them information. Training isnt just about formal classroom causes.

PURPOSE OF TRAINING
Providing training help you to; Ensure employees are not injured or made ill by the work Develop a positive health and safety culture You could manage health and safety better Meet your legal duty to protect employees
