Viscosity. 10 Groups in p4 each had their own question and my group Tommy, Brock and I thought... Which has the highest Viscosity- Sunscreen or tomato sauce?

Question

 Tomato Sauce has higher Viscosity.

 If something is high viscosity it is sticky and thick, and moves slower. If something is low Viscosity it moves quicker and is runnier. In other words Viscosity is how dense something is. Issac Newton first thought of Viscosity.

What has higher Viscosity Sunscreen or Tomato Sauce Hypothesis Tomato sauce has higher Viscosity. Materials Beaker x2 sun screen cup Funnel x2 Tomato sauce cup Method 1. pour a cup of Sunscreen into a funnel on top of a beaker 2. Time how long it took to get from the bottom of the funnel to the bottom of the beaker. 3. Pour a cup of Tomato Sauce into a funnel on top of a beaker. 4. Time how long it took to get from the bottom of the funnel to the bottom of the beaker. Aim Find out what has higher Viscosity.

These Graphs show what had the highest Viscosity (took the longest to touch the bottom of the beaker. They also show the mean, median, range and mode.

Evaluation
Good things about our experiment was we after a while we worked together and got some work done, our experiment was a success we found out that Tomato sauce has high Viscosity and UVA sunscreen has low Viscosity. One thing we could have improved on could be work together from the word go.

I wasnt there to see the experiment happen but over all it sounded like a great day, learnt heaps and got the result we wanted.

To find out what has the highest Viscosity we pour a cup of Sunscreen and Tomato sauce into two different funnels on top of two beakers and timed how long it took for the two liquids to get from the bottom of the funnel to the bottom of the beaker. We found out that Viscosity means how dense something is, high viscosity means it is sticky and thick, and moves slower. Low Viscosity means the liquid moves quicker and is runnier. Examples Golden syrup is high Viscosity because it moves slower. Example of low Viscosity is water because it moves quicker. Good things about our experiment was we after a while we worked together and got some work done, our experiment was a success we found out that Tomato sauce has high Viscosity and UVA sunscreen has low Viscosity. One thing we could have improved on could be work together from the word go. In conclusion they had a great day experimenting or though I wasnt there to see the experiment the results matched my Hypothesis.
