Life in Colours.
As this project report is concerned about a visit to an agriculture-based business, henceforth, we happened to visit a FLORIBUSINESS retail shop,: LIFE IN COLOURS, located at DHOLE PATIL ROAD, near RUBY HOSPITAL.

The shop life in colours is owned by Mrs. SHARDA MUKESH BAJAJ. We happened to meet up the reputed owner of life in colours , Mrs. Sharda mukesh bajaj, who told us keenly about how and when she established LIFE IN COLOURS and how it exactly works.

ABOUT THE OWNER :Life in colours was exactly established in the year 2005. Mrs. bajaj before life in colours was in the same business partnership for about 9 continuous years. Which means that Mrs. Bajaj is into this floriculture business, i.e. she is dealing and working with flowers for past 15 continuous years.

Mrs. Bajaj told us that, life in colours mainly deals with :Local, national and international delivery of flowers. Regular flower supply services in Corporate offices and hotels . Wedding and event planners and decorators.

LIFE IN COLOURS, is famous for unique and exclusive designs. It is best known for its beautiful imported flowers and efficient services.

LIFE IN COLOURS has its all over three branches in pune city :1. Dhole patil road. 2. Aundh. 3. Senapati bapat road. All the flowers for the shops come from Pune, Bangalore, Ooty, etc., as well as foreign countries. Huge imports of fresh flowers FRESH FLOWER STOCK AT SHOP are made from Thailand and China as well.And recently along with the fresh flowers, Mrs. Bajaj introduced her business with Artificial flowers as well. LIFE IN COLOURS deals with a variety of all kinds of natural fresh flowers as well as dry flowers. Some of the main varieties of flowers are :
ROSES TULIPS LILIUMS GARNISIONS ORCHIDS JERBERAS GLADS SUNFLOWERS

Among such a huge variety of flowers, the highest demanded flower is LILIUM. Which further has 2 varieties :Oriental : more fragrance- more expensive Asiatic : no fragrance- less expensive

ABOUT THE FLOWER IMPORTS :All the fresh flowers are imported from different cities within India like Ooty, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, etc., via Bangalore. Imports are done via Bangalore because Bangalore city abundants itself with floriculture marketing companies. Thus all the imports and distribution is done via Bangalore.

LIFE IN COLOURS mainly deals and imports two types of flowers:Exotic flowers orchids : imported from Bangkok, via Bangalore. Liliums : imported from Ooty belt, via Bangalore. Tropical flowers Imported from coastal regions, via Bangalore.

GOALS :Mrs. Bajaj also talked about her goals for her business, where she said that, NO END TO THE GOALS. Yet she mentioned the main goals which were : GROW BUYING AND RETAILING OF CUT FLOWERS. EVENT MANAGEMENT (WEDDINGS/CORPORATE MEETINGS/ ENAGURATIONS).

HOW IS THE CARE TAKEN ? Mrs. bajaj told us the secret behind, how the flowers at LIFE IN COLOURS live for much longer as compared to their original lives. She told that the stems of the flowers are cut down diagonally at 45 degrees angle everyday. [REASON : LEAFY MATERIAL HAS TO BE CUT DOWN FROM THE STEM BECAUSE IT FORMS BACTERIA IN THE WATER & LEAF DETORIATES FASTER,i.e., DAMAGING THE FLOWER.] Also as a part of care, everyday the water is changed for their better life.

One more specialty which Mrs. Bajaj talked about was their unique flower decorations in which they use maximum of greens. With the flowers. In the category of greens, there are numerous different varieties, such as, :ASPARAGUS EVERGREENS PHILODENDRONS FERNES PALMS And these greens last for at least 15 days, and cost similar as flowers. LIFE IN COLOURS also deals corporate daily assignments. Which in summer are more, i.e 3 times a week, instead of 2 times a week, because in summers flowers dont last for much longer. Some of the companies having permanent daily-orders with LIFE IN COLOURS are : KARIA DEVELOPERS, CAPGEMINI, BMW, L&T, BNP PRATIBAS, ONIDA, KAPILA HOTEL, and many more. Also under Mrs. Bajaj, there are total 10-12 workers working...3-aundh,3-S.B.Road, and 5-6 at Dhole patil road.

LIFE IN COLOURS also provides home Delivery of flowers @ Rs. 11 per km ABOUT THE DUMP/ WASTE :last but not the least, we talked about the waste that gets collected out of the flowers. And Mrs. Bajaj told us that it is collected by the local municipality dump collectors, and finally WERMICOMPOSE is made out of it. Thus not only the fresh flowers, but also the waste material out of them comes in usage.
