The objective of this assignment is to make students understand and think the strategies to solve the non-routine problem. The students also must try the games or puzzle that have no specific ways to solve the problem So, they must creative and critis if they want to solve the problem.

Non-routine problem is a problem with variety of solutions. There are no specific way to solve it. For this non-routine problem, we are required to use or create new method to solve it. Non-routine problem also can be solve by Polyas problem solving model.

We had choose a Maze Making game. We have identify that there are two suitable strategies to solve this game.

1.GUESS AND CHECK

2.LOOK FOR A PATTERN

STEP 1:UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM Firstly, we must understand the problem in this game. In this maze making game, we are require to arrange the grass block to help the monkey. The monkey need the help to cross the river safely.

STEP 2: PLAN A STRATEGY

We are plan to use guess and check. So that, we must try to put the grass block along the pathway that can help the monkey cross the river. As we can see, there are the shark. If the monkey cannot cross the river, it will be fall down into the river and be eaten by the dangerous shark.

STEP 3: CARRYING OUT THE SOLVING STRATEGY First, we are try to put the grass block at the first box and then to another box until the path is built correctly We are continuous trying arrange the block if our first guess is not correct.
STEP 4: LOOKING BACK We are check if the method we are using is correct to solve the problem correctly. If not, we must do the game again.

STEP 1:UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM Firstly, we must understand the problem in this game. As we can see, this game is in a big square shape we there are 16 small box inside it. So that, we can arrange the grass block by look at the pattern.

STEP 2: PLAN A STRATEGY


After know the pattern, we plan a strategy to arrange the block grass. Firstly, start from the monkey or we can start from the centre to the cross river or we can start from the opposite side to the monkey. From the block, we must know where to put the block based on the shape of the block.

STEP 3: CARRYING OUT THE SOLVING STRATEGY We use the strategy that we plan to solve this game. Try to put the block connect to each other.
STEP 4: LOOKING BACK We are check if the method we are using is correct to solve the problem correctly. If not, we must do the game again.

As a conclusion, from this two different method to solve this game, the method 2 (look at the pattern) is most suitable to solve this game. The reasons why we choose the method 2 are because the strategies are more specific. We can solve the problem more faster and easily when we use method 2.

Weakness - The weakness of this game is first if we use guess and check method, we will waste a lot of time to solve it until the correct pathway is built where we need to take time for thinking the suitable grass block to arrange Strength - The strength of this game is when we use the look for a pattern method. From that we can arrange the grass block wisely.

We had choose the stick game

The question is you must remove three sticks and leaves three triangles. The method guess and check and look for a pattern are also apply to this game.
