HABIT
A small spreading perennial herb grows up to 50 cm in height. Leavescompound, imparipinnate, with 11-21 leaflets, oblonglanceolate, small;flowers red or purple, in axillaryracemes. Fruits pods, containing 4-8seeds.

HABIT
A semi woody, erect annual or perennial undershrubgrows upto 1 meter in height. Leaves are variable, Rhomboidlanceolate,serrated at apical half; flowers yellowish white, solitary, foundin leaf axils. Fruits schizocarp, enclosed within the calyx. Seedsbrown colored and smooth.

HABIT
A moderate sized tree grows up to 15 meters in height. HABIT
Madhavilata, native from India to the Philippines, is a vine like plantthat is often cultivated in the tropics for its attractive and fragrantflowers. A woody climbing shrub with clusters of pink to white andyellow fragrant flowers and 3-winged, helicopter-like fruits. Flowershave very interesting shape and look like a decorative accessory, withfluffy-toothed edges. The fragrance is very strong and pleasant,resembles fruity perfume. Leaves are narrow and drooping. This plantcan be trimmed as a bush, and can be crown in container, too. Usedmedicinally in India. Make sure to provide lots of light for profuseblooming.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
The bark, leaves and flowers are aromatic, bitter, acrid, astringent,refrigerant, vulnerary, expectorant, cardiotonic, antiinflammatory andinsecticidal. They are useful in burning sensation, wounds, ulcers,cough, asthma.

Botanical Trait
Aloe Vera is a semi tropical plant Aloes thick, tapered, spiny leaves grow from a short stalk near ground level. It is not acactus, but a member of the tree lily family, botanically known as Aloe barbadensis Mill. Aloes relationship to the lily family is evident from the tubular yellow flowers produced annually in the spring that resemble those of the Ester Lily.

The aloe leaf contains over 75 nutrients and 200 active compounds, including 20minerals, 18 amino acids, and 12 vitamins.Contains the most essential components required by the human body.Aloevera has vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E. Aloe has a high enzyme content (about 92 enzymes), which makes it a rare and valuableresource because enzymes help the body absorb basic nutrients while also purifying it.

APPLICATIONS
The products prepared from Aloe vera leaves have multiple properties such as emollient,purgative, antibacterial, anti inflammatory, anti oxidant, anesthetic, aphrodisiac, antihelmenthic, antifungal, antiseptic and cosmetic. Most (96%) of the plant is water and rest is active ingredients like essential oil, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glycoprotines.

External Applications
The external uses of Aloe products are primarily as skin healer and cosmetic use. Thehealing effect of Aloe vera products is because of its ability to prevent injury to epithelialtissues (skin layer) and promote healing to injured tissues. It soothes a variety of skin ailments such as mild cuts, insect stings, bruises, poison ivyand eczema. Cosmetologists call it as "water of youth" because of its anti wrinkleproperties. Its rate of absorption in skin is four times higher than water, making it good Moisturiser.

Internal Applications
The Aloe vera products can be taken internally in form of powder, tablets and juices. The juice and food supplement of Aloe vera is highly useful to digestive tract irritationssuch as colitis and peptic ulcers. It also facilitates digestion, blood and lymphatic circulation and functioning of kidney,liver and gall bladder.
