WHAT IS PDD.

Project Design Document is the principal

document used by project participants to get
a CDM project approved in CDM project cycle.
Its format is outlined in Appendix B of the
Modalities and Procedures of the CDM,
specified by UNFCCC
CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is

one of the flexible mechanisms following the
Kyoto Protocol (Article 12).
The CDM offers industrialized countries
the possibility to engage in economically and
environmentally competitive emission
reduction projects in developing countries,
Transacting through CERs.
Aims to global carbon emission reduction
at lesser global cost.
CDM PROJECT CYCLE:
Step-1: Identify a project idea
Step-2: PIN and PDD development
Step-3: Approval by DNA
Step-4: Validation by OE
Step-5: Monitoring by entities
Step-6: Verification and certification by
OEs
Step-7: Issuance of CERs by EB

CONCLUSION

 Neora Hydro Electric Project is a Small scale CDM project of

SSC-CDM-1D Category, according to Appendix II of simplified
modalities and procedure.

 The Small hydro electric power project is expected to

produce 12877.2 MWh at 49% PLF having installed capacity
3 MW. This will generate a total CER of 13263.5 tons of CO2
per year, taking Emission Factor as 1.03.

 CDM Benefit is expected to reduce the generation cost by

56.4 paise per Unit
