Surrounded by a rich and varied wildlife

In addition to its fine beaches, Koh Phra Thong has large mangrove swamps and wide, open stretches of savannah teeming with wildlife. Birdlife is especially rich with over a hundred species having been sighted on the island.

Living is easy..
Backing onto a pristine nature reserve, the resort consists of 28 individual and privately owned wooden villas, carefully maintained in a traditional style, and generously sprinkled along the shoreline. Apart from a couple of sleepy bars on the shore, there are no habitations visible from the sea.

Activities
Golden Buddha Beach has a range
of activities that can be enjoyed by all ages and fitness levels. The resort offers yoga lessons twice a day at the yoga sala on the bay, where you can also find our kayaks and sailing boats. You can arrange diving directly with the diving shop down the beach. There are also cooking classes, trekking and cultural tours

Locally sourced food

Our kitchen only serves seasonal local ingredients. The market in Kuraburi supplies 90% of our fruit and vegetables. We buy our fish and seafood mostly from the island, though in peak season we sometimes have to go to the fishermen in Kuraburi. We breed our own chickens, ducks and pigs with a view to fully supply our kitchen in eggs

and meat.

Menus
We have a bar menu available at the clubhouse from 11 am which consists of classic Thai staples such as pad Thai noodles, tom yam soup, chicken satay or laarb gai etc.. Evening meals are more elaborate and routinely feature all manners of Thai curries, rice and vegetable dishes.

For those who prefer a less exotic fare, we have a grilled or steamed fish option everyday, based on catch of the day. From 11am to 5pm we serve home made pizza at the beach bar.

Where are we?

Golden Buddha Beach Resort is located on the island of Koh Phra Thong, off Thailands West coast. Boats to the island depart from Kuraburi, a small town on the main road to Phuket, about 160 km due north of Phuket International Airport. Kuraburi is one hour drive south of Ranong (daily direct flights from Bangkok), and two and a half hours drive from either Phuket or Krabi.
