INTRODUCTION OF CIRCUIT BREAKER

INTRODUCTION
The circuit breaker is mechanical device designed to closing or opening electrical circuit under normal and abnormal condition. The circuit breaker is the device use for the protection purpose. It protect form the over current, earth fault & over load. The circuit breaker operating on two method. 1 AUTOMATICALLY 2 MANUALLY

AUTOMATICALLY OPERATION.

The automatic operation is done in abnormal condition. In the abnormal condition the relay sense the fault & Provide the signal to the circuit breaker to the break the contact. This whole process is done automatically. MANUAL OPERATION manual operation is taking for maintenance and any other installation purpose. the manual operation is taken by the operator.

Construction & Working

Circuit breaker is two type of contactor one is stationary & other is moving contactor. When in normal condition the contactor touch each other. when it operated manually or automatically at on load. the circuit is became open & the arc is produce between the two contactor. Here Different type of circuit breaker are use for the arc witching.

TYPES OF CIRCUITBREAKER
1.AIR BLAST CB 2.AIR BREAK CB

3.OIL CB
4.SF6 CB 5.VACUME CB 6.ELCB

EARTH LEKAGE CIRCUIT BREAKER

INTRODUCTION
The earth leakage circuit breaker or commonly called the ELCB is located inside the home electrical panel or distribution board. This component of the home electrical installation is designed to detect any leakage of electrical current

CIRCIT DIGRAM OF ELCB

CIRCUIT DISCRIPTION
On a healthy circuit the same current passes through the phase coil, the load and then return back through the neutral coil. Both the phase and neutral coils are wound on a common transformer core such that they will produce opposing magnetic flux. With the same current passing both coils, their magnetic effect will then cancel out under a healthy circuit condition. In a faulty circuit, the line current will be higher than the neutral currents, so the the line coils produce a stronger flux than the neutral coils. So the magnetic flux does not cancel out and there is a resultant or residual magnetic flux in the common transformer core.

Residual current device

1. Electromagnet with help electronics 2. Current transformer secondary winding 3. Transformer core 4. Test switch L live conductor N neutral conductor.

TESTING OF ELCB
pressing the testing switching it working like earth fault condition. When pressing test switch so the coil is energized and trip the switch.

SELECTION OF SENSITIVITY
here is the change of the sensitivity. It change on operating current. In latest ELCB providing large range of sensitivity.

CONNECTION OF ELCB IN LINE

The single line diagram provides an overall picture of the wiring system for the whole house into in easy to understand view. Remember, this is not a wiring diagram. A single line diagram is a representation of the whole system by showing the interrelationships between all major components that are assembled to produce the system. It is just like a block diagram.

ZOOMING OF CONNECTION

The two incoming cables from the meter panel is connected to the 60A SPN SWITCH FUSE, and from this switch fuse, the cables are connected to the ELCB.

Then a connection is made from ELCB to the electric panel LIVE busbar.
