I got 75 responses A wide range results Most people found my survey on Facebook I will be able to find out what I need to with my results

1) How old are you?

Our age group (16-18) was the second common age to do my survey at 29.33% this is probably because they werent as willing as the 13-15 year olds to take part in the survey but still a lot of them did it as I know a lot of people our age and Im friends with them on Facebook.

The least common age to take part in my survey was 3040 at 2.6%, this is because Im not friends with many people this age, as theyre younger than my mothers age but older than older sisters age.

The most common age of people taking part in my survey was 13-15 at 44% This could be because I posted it on Facebook and Im friends with people from my old school on there in younger years and theyre more willing to do it.

2) What magazine do you currently read?

So many people chose different magazines so theres a really wide variety of magazines on the pie chart. The most popular choice was none at 22%, this could be because the most common age of people who took part in my survey were 13-15 and they may not be interested in many magazines as they may be targeted at older people another reason could be that they are studying for GCSEs because I know I wouldnt of had time to read magazines then.

The second most popular magazine being read was Ok at 12% this could be because its very popular its about celebrity gossip and news.

3) What genre of music do you like?

Hip Hop/Rap is also very popular, in second most popular choice at 40% because it has a lot of publicity in the charts, therefor lots of people get the chance to hear it and grow to like it. It was very close between the most common music genre chosen, the most popular was singer/songwriter. I think this is because there are some really popular singer/ songwriters out there at the moment such as Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard and Birdy who many people are interested in. The reason Indie Pop was the 3rd most popular at 36.67% is because most of the singer songwriters are under the Indie Pop category and lots of people are interested in them.

4) What are your favourite bands/musicians?

There were far too many bands/musicians listed to create a pie chart, there were too many names so it you couldnt read the chart or the names around it. The most popular choice of bands was One Direction. I think this might be because the people who done my survey, a lot of them, were ages 1315 and a lot of young girls right now have a massive craze for one direction, so I think that they could have been responsible for that.

5) What brands do you frequently use?

The most popular brand was Facebook, pretty much everyone who completed my survey would have chosen Facebook as one of their brands as this is how they would have found my survey. If they werent allowed to choose more than one then I think the percentage would have been much higher than 78.67%, I think it would have been 100%. The least popular brand chosen was Danone at 1.33% a very random brand, but worldwide its very popular yogurt brand. People may not of recognised this brand and therefor didnt chose it. Google and Apple are expectedly very popular, this was proven on my survey with Google at 69.33% and Apple at 68%.

As you can see, Facebook is the most popular website at 37% and this is expected that most people would write the website because they probably found my survey on Facebook. The second most popular website choice was twitter at 19%, this is also expected as most of the people who completed my survey were younger and they will all probably use social networks and therefor use twitter. Youtube is also popular at 9% as its a great source for people to listen to music for free.

7) Do you attend gigs/concerts?

A few times a year was the most popular answer to this question at 41.33%. I think this is because a big percentage of the people who completed my survey were young and they attend festivals in the summer, go to concerts of their favourite bands. A few times a week was the least popular answer, Id say this is because gigs/concerts cost money and it could add up to be quite expensive and also there wouldnt be a lot of time to do work/ homework.

8) In a typical month, how much do you

usually spend on music?
The most popular choice of amount of money was 0-2 at 34.67%. This is probably because there are ways to listen to music for free such as you can listen and watch music videos on YouTube. The least popular amount of money chosen was both 21-30 and 30+ at 4% as theyre a lot of money, and when you can listen to music for free, people are very unlikely to want to spend a lot of money on music.

9) What method are you more likely to use to buy your music?

CDs were the second most popular as its traditional and you get to keep the CD after. Also in second place was illegally downloading music which is popular because its free and easily done. The least popular choice was tapes as theyre quite out of fashion and theres not many tape players about either anymore.

10) What do you look for in a magazine/what interests do you have?

Again, there were too many interests to put into a pie chart but the most popular three were celebrities, up coming artists and fashion. People are interested in celebrities as they like to know whats going on and reading about others lives. Upcoming artists are interesting as they let people explore whats fresh on the music scene. Fashion is great for everyone as they can see the newest trends and what to buy for the new seasons.
