Waterhemp and Palmer Amaranth Management

Most grass and broadleaf weeds are controlled with just one application of Corvus at 5.6 fl oz/A. Weeds such as waterhemp and Palmer amaranth, however, are simply difficult to control, regardless of whether or not they are resistant to glyphosate. These specific weeds have characteristics which allow them to germinate over the entire growing season, grow rapidly and produce a large amount of seed. When waterhemp or Palmer amaranth are present, Corvus is recommended as a foundation herbicide in a planned two-pass herbicide program.
Resistance Management Tool

Dual modes of action help manage and prevent the development of resistance:
HPPD Inhibitor (commonly known as a bleacher) Inhibits 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) enzyme in plants HPPD is key to production of protective pigments and development of chloroplasts in plants By inhibiting this development, emerging plant tissue is bleached (white to pale yellow) ALS Inhibitor
Inhibits acetolactate synthase enzyme

Prevents production of three essential branch-chain amino acids These amino acids are building blocks for a plants normal growth and development
Provides four modes of action when tankmixed with glyphosate and atrazine to kill resistant weeds
Resistance Management Tool

Corvus integrates easily into an overall pest and weed management strategy which helps: Manage resistant and tolerant weed populations Maintain the viability of other herbicide programs Employ practices known to limit weed development and herbicide use (tillage, scouting and proper application timing) whenever possible Always use the full labeled rates as shown on the label

Rotating herbicide mode of action (MOA) is essential to improving weed resistance management and helps you Respect the Rotation. 1. Rotate mode of action and/or use multiple MOA to reduce the selection pressure caused by overusing a single MOAs. 2. Rotate herbicide-tolerant traits. 3. Rotate crops.

When weeds are present at time of treatment and prior to corn emergence, tankmix Corvus with COC or MSO for burndown of labeled weeds 6 inches or less in height When weeds are greater than 6 inches in height or weeds not controlled by Corvus are present, the addition of a non-selective herbicide is recommended

Corvus is available for application to corn in a tankmix with atrazine from spiking through the 2-leaf collar (V2) growth stage Do not use COC or MSO with Corvus herbicide applied to emerged field corn Tankmixes with other herbicides or adjuvants are not recommended for early postemergence applications of Corvus herbicide as crop response symptoms, including bleaching, leaf edge necrosis and stunting, may result
