THE CASE
In Feb 2006, after the Indian cricket

teams tour of Pakistan, Saurav Ganguly was axed from the Indian test squad. He was also dropped from one day international team. Ganguly was first selected to play for Indian national cricket team during 1991-1992 tour of Australia. In 1996,Ganguly made a come back and quickly rose to prominence.

Ganguly got the job of captaining the

Indian team in 2000. Ganguly brought various cultural changes in the team and also instilled aggression in the team which started performing well. The team became very loyal to the captain. Under Ganguly the team started wining away from home.

The crowning glory of Gangulys career

came in 2003 World Cup , when India played in finals after 20 years. Ganguly was considered the best Indian Captain. His performance suffered during the mid 2000s.
