OBJECTIVE

,o study the 'rid inte'ration issues o! #ind 'enerators + since the po#er 'eneration usin' #ind 'enerators has 'ained importance in the recent days.

INTRODUCTION
"ariable speed #ind turbine #ith direct driven P$%G and po#er electronic inter!ace is one o! the most commonly used system e&hibitin' variability in the output po#er as a result o! chan'e in the prime mover(#ind speed). (hen such a con!i'uration is interconnected to the 'rid it introduces various challen'es to the net#or) in terms o! po#er *uality issues+ stability and volta'e re'ulation.

,o study these issues $A,-A./%I$0-I123%impo#er system is used to model an IEEE 45 bus balanced industrial distribution system as a test case+ to #hich a P$%G is connected as a local plant distribution system. A novel vector control mechanism is used !or control o! both $%C and G%C o! P$%G #ind turbine to achieve inte'rated control o! ma&imum po#er e&traction+ reactive po#er and 'rid volta'e support control. ,his paper #ill e&amine these system inte'ration issues associated #ith #ind 'enerator and also sho#s that direct vector control structure o! P$%G system has e&cellent per!ormance in various aspects.

CONCLUSION
,hus it can be seen that !or 'rid connected direct driven P$%G #ith direct current vector control mechanism ma&imum po#er point trac)in' is done to e&tract ma&imum po#er !rom the #ind by speed control o! $%C. $aintenance o! constant ?C lin) volta'e and control o! reactive po#er absorption !rom 'rid is achieved by d3 and *3 a&is control o! G%C. Grom the harmonic spectra o! 'rid volta'e #hen P$%G #ith #ind turbine is interconnected to the 'rid as a source o! distributed 'eneration it can be observed that the ,otal Farmonic ?istortion (,F?) is =.>9H #hich is #ithin acceptable limits as per IEEE3=483488> standards.
