He looked around for their goal and saw a great column rising high into the air.
So Stripe crawled down from the friendly tree which had shaded and fed him. He was seeking more.
caterpillars were trying to reach the topbut the top was so lost in the clouds .
No one knows that either but it must be awfully good because everybodys rushing there. Goodbye; Ive no more time!
Along the way, Stripe met one special caterpillar, Yellow. He tried to avoid stepping on her but one day there she was, blocking the only way up. Stripe stepped squarely on her head but later crawled off Yellow and whispered Im sorry.
They both knew this wasnt what they wanted. They decided to go down the pile.
Being together like this is sure different from being crushed in that crowd! Stripe said.
It sure is! answered Yellow.
How does one become a butterfly? she asked pensively. You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.
And Yellow decided to risk for a butterfly. For courage she hung right beside the other cocoon and began to spin her own.
Stripe was pushed and kicked and stepped on from every direction.
Dont blame me if you dont succeed! Its a tough life. Just make up your mind,
Just then, he saw a brilliant yellowwinged creature circling the pillar, moving freely.
When Stripe poked out his head the creature seemed to recognize him. It extended its legs and tried to grab him.
Stripe decided to follow the creature. He turned around and began down the pillar.
THE END.
