What is meant by variation?
 Differences between organisms of the

What are the variation in

 Eg. Height, weight, hair colour, eye colour,
skin colour etc.
Types of variation
 Two types
1. Continuous variation – characteristics
which show continuous change
(quantitative). E.g. weight and height.
2. Discontinuous variation – the differences
in the character are distinctive
(qualitative). E.g. blood group and
fingerprint patterns.
