JOURNALISM :

is an art of gathering, analyzing,


validating and presenting news
regarding current events, trends, issues
and people.

Campus Journalism :
is basically the newspapering in school. It
serves as an alternative media for students
to subscribe for news and issues.

Three Basic Forms of Journalism
Printed
- Newspaper
- Magazines
- Newsletter or any hardcopies of journalism articles

Broadcast
- it is verbal, contemporary broadcast journalism requires facilities that can
convert sound input into signal transported through air, cable or the internet.

Electronic
- is an emerging form of reporting, found online and can be considered as
the future trend of news distribution along with the advancement of digital and
technology era.


NEWSPAPER DESIGN
The Newsletter
- This design is the most basic and considered as the most
timely, as it published more than other designs. The newsletter is
typically the size of a letter paper, which is 8.5 x 11.


The Magazine
- This design is considered to be a typical compilation of
news that are developed into feature stories and current events,
annotated and digested but costlier than the newsletter.




The Tabloid
This design is typically the first venture of students in a larger- sized
campus paper. It shares with the newsletter the same idea of
page make up restriction on color and the principles of
journalistic layout but it differs in the presentation of content.

The Broadsheet
- It is mostly employed in college newspapers and
some high school institutions. It is the most restrictive
among the campus newspapers, since it follows the
style of commercial dailies, such as the Philippine
Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star

PAGES :
The Front Page Considered as the face of the newspaper, the front
page is where the nameplate is placed. It also where volume and issue
editions and the logo of the school are laid out.

The News Pages - The most essential parts of a newspaper are the ones
that contain the news of the covered period. Usually, the first pages of the
newspaper are assigned with news in school and in Locality

The Opinion Pages - One of the added essentials in a newspaper is the
opinion page, where the soul of the editorial board, the editorial itself, it
is also where columnist.

The Feature Pages - The features are extensions of news and other
things that concern students. These pages are arguably the most read
since the contents capture the interests of students, in a less restrictive
writing style
The Sports Pages - Placed conventionally at the last pages,
the sports news and articles are avenues of students to be
informed in the world of sports, being one essential component of
student life.
