Pandora's Box
Ancient Greek Myth
Summary
Zeus was angry with the Prometheus for defying
his orders and bringing fire to mankind, but
Zeus controlled his anger and came up with a
plan. Zeus sent a woman who would be a wife
for Prometheus's bother, Epimetheus. The
woman was named Pandora and along with the
gift of beauty, she was given the gift of curiosity
by the godess Hera.

On the day of their wedding,
Zeus gave Pandora and
Epimetheus a box that he said
held great treasure.
Prometheus warmed Pandora
and his brother to never open
the box, but eventually
Pandora's curiosity won out.
When she opened the box, out
came all the plagues of the
world including sickness, greed,
malevolence, and so forth. All
the remained in the box was,
Hope telling that Hope would
never abandon mankind.

The main characters of this story are given
mythical powers and known as gods.
Example:- The gods are Epimetheus,
Prometheus and Zeus.

It explains on how the bad things like envy,
sickness and hate also Hope as the good things
come to the worls.


This mythology is suitable to be told to
students of higher level
This story can be adapted into more
appropriate version so that students are
able to adapt the concept into real life
situations
The story teaches about being curious. As
we say curiosity kills the cat. We should
not mess with the things that we yet to
know
What can be taught from this story:
From this story, teacher can teach students
that they should hold on to the trust that
other people put on them
Listen to warnings and do not ignore them
It also tells that when everything seems in
the darkest, and there is no light to be
seen, there is always HOPE
