INTRODUCTION OF MEDIA :-




In general, media refers to various means of communication.

Media is medium which help for transfer or share any information from one
person to another person.

For example : newspapers, magazines, television, radio and any other channel
of information.

A knowledge of the media is useful to business executives who are often torn
between trying to get things into the press and trying to keep them out.

Word media is used for press and reporting agencies.

Advantages of media
. When using social media for marketing products, social media could be easily
utilized to create cost effective strategies and campaigns that can create viral
results.
Social media has the power to drive traffic to your website, blog, articles, etc.
Social media is able to bring people together, especially when promoting global
products or cause-related campaigns and ideas since it allows people from the
different geographical location to meet at a single point and express their views.
Different types of print media (newspapers and magazines) have a loyal
readership. This can be very useful for advertisers as compared to advertising on
the Internet.
If you are targeting a particular geographical area, you can do so with ease
through print media. For example, a local newspaper would be a best medium to
advertise about a new shopping complex.
Magazines and newspapers are always in the eye amongst public. Magazines
are read for a period of a month, which brings more attention to an advertisement.



DISADVANTAGES
OF MEDIA
You may have to plan months in advance to advertise in print media. It
does not offer you flexibility when you are faced with a tight deadline.
Advertisements may get lost in all the clutter of editorial and ads by
competitors.
The shelf life of any particular print medium is limited. Newspapers for
example, are amongst the public eye only for a day.
Opens up the possibility for hackers to commit fraud and launch spam
and virus attacks.
Increases the risk of people falling prey to online scams that seem
genuine, resulting in data or identity theft.
Sometimes it overemphasizes on the message and present it to the
audience.
It can sometimes give wrong message to the people.




It should be truthful, fair and with an objective.

It should follow the agreed codes of ethics and professional
conducts.

It should represent the public and should speak for them.

Media ought to work for culture.

Media should provide guideline to the youth.

Media should condemn critical activities.
