(JSA)
JSA is a procedure for finding out
hazards involved in a job and
developing suitable remedies.
PROCEDURE
Select the job
Break the job into basic elements or
steps as per the sequence of the
operation
Identify the hazards and potential
accidents situations in each step
Develop ways and means to eliminate
hazards to prevent the potential
accident
I. SELECT THE JOB
Jobs which have caused serious accident
or which has got serious accident
potential
New jobs
Maintenance jobs

BREAKING THE JOB
Break down the job to basic steps in a
proper sequence
Steps should not be too general/too
detail but to explain what to be done
Conductors of JSA should keenly
observe and examine all possibilities of
accidents in each step
Observe operation as many times to
identify the hazards

Have discussions with concerned shop
floor persons
Solutions can be developed after
analyzing the hazards and other
relevant particulars during JSA
SOLUTIONS
Develop a new alternate method
Reducing the frequency of a hazardious
operation
Changing the physical/mechanical
condition
Suggesting suitable PPE

JOB BREAK DOWN SHEET
