Bimbo asks its suppliers of pallets, that they should be
made of sustainable wood: legal and supported by
international organisms.
2. Sustainable palm oil
Sustainable supply of palm oil, through a certification
process for all purchases of this ingredient.

1.-Ecological sales centers.

2.- Terracycle.
o Alliance to provide a positive solution to their packaging waste, in
order to minimize the environmental impact.
o The plan is to collect wrappers of Pan Bimbo , the consumers
can participate.
o 4 packages sent = they will provide $1 peso to a civil
partnership.
o They will reuse the packages.
o They have sustainable packaging.
3.-Commitment to consumer health.
o Reduction of levels of sugar, saturated fat and sodium in
products.
o Inclusion of whole grains, fiber, and certain vitamins and
minerals.
o Savings in raw material volume by reducing tons of fat, salt and
sugar in the year,
o Partnerships, events and courses for customers, employees and
communities to promote healthy habits, proper nutrition and
daily physical activity promotion.
DOWNSTREAM APPROACH
4.- Reforestamos Mxico.
o Bimbo invited its employees to participate with donations, this
employees are, at the end of the day, its customers too.
o 1 peso given by the staff = 1 peso given by the company to
replant a million trees. Eight protected areas were benefited.
o After this initiative, it was decided to give continuity to such
projects permanently through Reforestamos Mexico.
o Support to 41 forest enterprises in 59 communities.
o Increase by 49% the extent of forests.

Replacing standard efficiency motors by high-efficiency motors.

Solar panels to avoid the consumption of electricity for lighting and
heating water to reduce gas consumption.

Investment in optimization technologies to shorten routes, and
accommodate trucks efficiently.

THE CONNECTING LOGISTIC PROCESS
JUST IN TIME:
o Because of the large volume of production of Bimbo and lack of
space, it works with a just in time system.
o The suppliers must be near the factory and they are 100% locals.
