History of the Temple
Following are the information we could collect
from the village seniors / Other prominent
people:
Periyava himself has told that this temple is
more than 1500 years old.
Periyava has performed Kumbabhishekam
50 years ago.
He has spent long hours meditating in this
temple each time he visited.

Highlights of the Project
101 Noble souls contributed in cash and kind
for this project. Many people had this project
close to their heart.
Some of them , even contributed every
month upon receiving their salary.
It is told that the project has been completed
in a record time of 6 months.. But we all
know it is only due to Mahaperiyavas grace.
We are indeed grateful to the Contractor
Aparajitha Constructions who ensured
continuous work flow irrespective of the
oscillating fund flow.

Manimandapam Management has actively
supported the project from day one.
Support from the Orikkai village is immense.
This is the Shiva Temple for near by villages
and for Pradosham (for the past 2 months)
more than 100 to 150 people are gathering.
Total Project Cost 12.8 Lakhs. (This doesnt
include construction of Chelli Amman and
Navagraham temple by villagers for which
our support was at a minimum level).

Major portion of the Kumbabishekam
expenses was donated by Manimandapam
trust.
Support from Sage of Kanchi (Mahesh)
group is remarkable, has helped in reaching
out to like minded devotees.
The stone carvings found at site will be de-
coded and preserved.
Day to day management of temple will be
taken care by the villagers and the overall
administration will be under Manimandapam
Management.

A Glimpse of the Completed Temple:

Pending Activity:
Construction of compound wall around the
temple has to be completed. The total project
cost is 2.85 Lakhs.
Manimandapam management will be
supporting by contributing a major portion of
this cost.
Our next projects shall include the temple
construction for Rudrakoteeswarar and the
Sivalingam found in Palar river bed.
With MahaPeriyavas grace, we wish to carry
