Connecting Landlocked Developing Countries to Markets
The Trans-Asian Railway (TAR) is a project to create an
integrated freight railway network across Europe and
Asia and CIS Countries. The TAR is a project of the
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for
Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).


The 24 countries that did not sign the agreement at
the conference had until 31 December 2007, to join
and ratify the agreement.

In 2012 the agreements have been signed by 32 countries to allow the railway to cross the
continent and also reach to Europe,Asia & CIS Countries. Some of the countries taking part
in the railway project are.

India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China, Japan, South Korea and Bangladesh

China started new Line from Tibet
Connecting India thru Arunchal
Pradesh.
Total of 125,000 square km of area
between China and India.
It will accelerate transportation of
the mineral products to India
Will Increase exports from India.
Will have dedicated Freight Corridor.
