INTRODUCTION
In computers, a printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a computer and
transfers the information to paper, usually to standard size sheets of paper. Printers are
sometimes sold with computers, but more frequently are purchased separately. Printers vary
in size, speed, sophistication, and cost. In general, more expensive printers are used for
higher-resolution colour printing.

Personal computer printers can be distinguished as impact or non-impact printers. Early
impact printers worked something like an automatic typewriter, with a key striking an inked
impression on paper for each printed character .

The dot-matrix printer was a popular low-cost personal computer printer. It's an impact printer
that strikes the paper a line at a time

The best-known non-impact printers are the inkjet printer, of which several makes of low-cost
colour printers are an example, and the laser printer .

WHAT IS 2D AND 3D PRINTERS
2D printer is the printer that use only 2 axis which is x-and
y-axis for its printing operation.
2D printers can be used to print information and picture on
the many type of papers.
The printing operation of 2D printers is simple and easy.
2D printers is mostly use as medium of information in the
world.
2D PRINTER

3d printer is the printer that use 3 axis which is x-axis, y-axis
and z-axis for its printing operation.
A 3D printer, using an additive process, produces a number
of cross-sectional slices via a 3D computer file.
The individual slices are then layered on top of each other to
produce a 3D object.

COMPARISON BETWEEN 2D AND 3D
PRINTERS
2D printer is widely used by us to spreading out information which is printed out onto the
papers, the information that we can print is limitless and it is the most efficient way to distribute
the information to others until today. Compared to the 3D printer which is normally used to
produce a real life prototype which is exactly same as the final product.
The operation procedures of 2D printer is easy to be understand compared to the 3D printer
which is more complex and need a person with good technical background to operate it.
The type of information that this two printers produce is also different where the 2D printer
only produce text or image on the paper meanwhile the 3D printer produce the real product of
the design.
The type of input for 2D printer is simple and user friendly compared to the input used by the
3D printer which need a deep of knowledge to construct.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF 2D AND 3D
PRINTERS
