INTRODUCTION
Since its inception OIL has always given top priority towards the all-round
development of the people residing in and around the Company’s area of
operation. OIL management understands that there is a need to strike a
balance between the overall objectives of achieving corporate excellence
vis-à-vis the corporate responsibility towards the community.

VISION STATEMENT

“OIL is responsible Corporate Citizen deeply committed to socio-economic


development in its area of operation”

RESOURCE ALLOCATION : Currently OIL India ltd spends 0.75% of its net profit on
CSR
VARIOUS CSR ACTIVITIES ARE
1. Social Welfare Scheme (SWS)
1) Year of Introduction: 1984
2) Objectives:
 Environment Protection
 Uplifment of Education
 Health and Socio Economic
Development
 Promotion of Sports
 Primary Health Care

2. Area Development Scheme (ADS)


1) Year of Introduction: 1996
2) Objectives:
 Construction of roads and bridges

Educational Institutions
 Primary health centres in northwest
region of Assam where the operations of
company are carried out.
3) Health- Mobile Dispensary
 Team of doctors and paramedical staff
of OIL hospital cater to the basic needs
of villages in and around OIL’s
operational areas.
 MOU signed with St. Luke hospital to
extend hospital services to villages in
Tinsukia District.

4) ) Education
 Financial Assistance for construction of
school building, libraries, teachers
common room in over 350 institutions
in upper Assam.
 Scholarship to merit holders of 10th and
12th Standard board exams.

5) General Nursing Midwifery


 Nursing Training in OIL hospital in
Duliajan.
 3 years course approved by the
Director of Medical Education, Assam.
 Stipend is paid along with hostel
accomodation, uniform, protective
clothing.
6)Social Cultural Development- Sports
 Sponsoring Various National Ranking
tournaments.
 Recruits promising young players and gives
them opportunity to advance their careers.
 Holding Football camps with trained coaches to
provide professional training in the rural areas of
Upper Assam.
 Development of village playgrounds
 Organizing different games in oilfield areas.

7) Project Rupantar
 Year of Introduction: 2003
 Mou was signed with State Institute of Rural
Development (SIRD), Duliajan in Assam.
 Promoting self employment and
Entrepreneurship among the unemployed youths
in Upper Assam where company undertakes its
operations.
 For this agro based industries like horticulture,
fisheries, sericulture, handloom, organic farming,
duck rearing is promoted.
8) Oil India Rural Development Programme
1) Agriculture development programme
 Year of Introduction : 1991
 It adopts villages under Pathar Parichalona
Samiti (PPS) or the agricultural development
in those villages.
 For this it provides technical assistance and
guidance to the farmers in modern methods
of farming, cultivation, farming equipment,
new variety of seeds, organic fertilizers etc.
 Untill today it has adopted 31 villages for
development.

9) Handicrafts Training and Production Centre


(HTPC)- Duliajan
 Year of Eastablishment: 1984
 It imparts training to women on handicraft,
weaving, embroidery and tailoring on monthly
stipendiary for a 9 months period.
 Till date, over 500 women have been trained,
most of whom have set-up their own small
production units.

CONCLUSION: OIL India ltd has undertaken an all round Corporate Social
Activities.
