Examples of research groups and projects

Living Places (Design)
The research at the Living Places is focused on the experiential
aspects of living environments including home, workplaces and
services in the urban area. Living Places is a multi-disciplinary
research unit established as Future Home Institute in 1997 as part
of the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
During its history, the institute has realized over 60 research projects
together with other research units and companies, mainly funded by
Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation),
Ministry of the Environment, Academy of Finland and companies.
The research aims at producing knowledge that can give input to usercentered design and development of environments, products and
services enabling changing patterns of everyday living.
